The Jason Knize Unappreciation Thread

- Loved the Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie.

- Tells dirty jokes to 5 year olds.

- Played tuba in high-school.

- Have you seen his Ledger Joker tattoo? His other arm has a Cesar Romero Joker tattoo.

- Came up with the term "GILF" to justify his grannies porn collection.

- If you've seen anything on PoP! you hated/disliked, Knize probably came up with it.

- Will keep saying he's attracted to Michelle Rodriguez even after she eventually reveals herself as a man.

No, it really wasn't, other than Buffy being the Slayer and being from L.A.. In the pilot, it's remarked that Buffy burned down the gym at her old high school (Principal Flutie mentions it when she meets with him), which never happened in the movie. They never mention Merrick, Pike, or the vampire master she defeated -- it's like the movie never happened.

Now, if you're taking the comic stories as canon, then they -did- address it in a graphic novel, which was essentially a GN version of the movie all Jossinized, and left us with a vampire Pike at the end...which was a huge tease, since the show was still on the air and we became briefly convinced that we were going to get to see Pike on the TV show.

No...the movie and show had elements in common, but the TV show was essentially the version of the movie that Joss wanted to do before the Kuzuis froze him out and raped his property.

Doug is now my new favorite person in the whole world.

Oh, I'm still a fan of the movie. Believe it or not.

But Joss Whedon is the one who wrote the Buffy movie, originally. However, the Kuzuis wouldn't let him direct, and made several gross changes to the script, chief among them letting Donald Sutherland rewrite lines he wasn't happy with. So, by the time the finished movie came out, it barely resembled the movie Joss Whedon wanted to make.

They were truly invested in Pee Wee Herman at the time. I heard he lost his testicles shortly after.

I hate the buffy tv shows but love the Kristy Swanson movie. It was the bee's knees when I was a kid and I thoroughly enjoy it now.
