I was thinking of what was currently going on in the books, and if this would negatively effect any current stories. But aside from Batman Inc, Max Lord in Generation Lost, and Wonder Woman's new status quo, I can't think of anything too important that this would interfere with. I wonder what would happen to those books if this does happen

What about Green Lantern?? Not sure how this will effect what's going on there, not to mention how the end of Brightest Day will feed into this. I wonder if the White Lantern "champion" storyline will tie into this somehow. A lot of intriguing questions to be answered here...

Yeah but I'd imagine there would be some fallout, especially once the White Lantern champion is found. Plus there's the whole "War of Green Lanterns" GL crossover looming. Anyway, this whole retitling and renumbering thing hasn't even been officially confirmed so we'll see lol.

Now that this is going to be an alternate reality story I am much, much less excited for it.

But just because it will have alternate reality elements doesn't mean it won't involve the main DCU and have major impact on it. I'm almost positive it will.

I could see the main titles taking like 4 months off to do Flashpoint alternate reality mini's

^ Good points. They can't mess up Brightest Day like Countdown, dirnit. If they do take time off for an alt timeline, it is safe to say that it'll be corrected. If I'm remembering AoA, a lot of stuff just kept with "where it left off" in some form or another. But--and don't take this as a downer statement--maybe just one big ass excuse for Geoff Johns to make the most ultimate retcon the DC has ever seen (even compared to Crises) and to give Grant Morrison a writer-boner.

^ Maybe i've gotten more lax about my position with comics, but frankly, I couldn't care less if it changes things as long as it's a good story. That seems to be all I really care about these days. I just want to read something worth the money I spent.

Eh, not thrilled on the idea of re-titling, but the story seems like it could be a fun time travel romp. And Andy Kubert.

My biggest problem is whether or not Johns can pull some of this off w/o having it feel like retread. Morrison did a Bruce Wayne's parents not dying story a few years ago (Last Rites), and Superman has the great 'Man Who Has Everything' story. And I'm pretty sure there are already 'World Without Superman' stories out there. Either way, it's time for me to pick up the regular Flash book!

If anyone give a fresh take on a character, my faith is in Johns

^ Not to deny Johns' good writings, but he really is just throwing Silver Age back into comics. Not saying it isn't original content, just that he's reusing old themes. Which is going pretty well so far. I still thank him for JSA.

Whatever he's doing, he's undeniably breathed new life into dozens of characters over the last few years.

I'm going by the old standby of "wait and see" approach.
