People in Favor of Tarantino Shutting the Hell Up.

Okay. While I enjoy some Quentin Tarantino films, I think that the world would be a much better place if his mouth were sewn shut. The man gasses on about shit he knows very little about, and it's apparent that he thinks that he's the Golden Calf of movie-making.

This statement in Entertainment Weekly just broke it once and for all for me:

EW The movie's been described as ''kosher porn.'' It's a revenge fantasy about Jewish-American soldiers wreaking havoc behind Nazi lines. But as far as we know, neither of you guys are Jewish.

QT Revenge is a big aspect of it. But you don't have to be Jewish to get involved in this revenge, especially when you're dealing with World War II iconography and mythology...

THERE IS NO MYTHOLOGY ABOUT WORLD WAR II. IT IS ALL DOCUMENTED HISTORY. Iconography I can give him happily, with Rosie the Riveter and the demonizing of the enemy, but mythology? Now you're just talking to hear words come out of that douche-hole you call a mouth. I can't imagine that anyone with more than a seventh grade education is willing to be friendly with him off the set.

Well, other douches, obviously. But no one with any real substance.


So, post here if you're one of those people who wish Quentin Tarantino would make his movies then SHUT THE HELL UP.

I'd say there's tons of WWII "mythology" From film, to fictional novels, to even probably exaggerated accounts of battles/actions. And Tarantino is easily one of the best modern day filmmakers.

I disagree. There have been reinterpretations of events (Valkyrie and such), but there is no true mythology.

And I'm not doubting the man's talent. I'm merely saying he's a douche and should shut the fuck up off-set.

Well... When you get right down to it, Captain America is a sort of World War II mythology. No one thinks he's real, but he is a mythological figure of sorts from the era.

I'm not sure what any fictionalized films could be called other than modern day mythology. And in terms of WWII there's plenty of things said about it which are untrue or exaggerated. Stories passed down and the such. It seems to me the only way one could take offense to that statement is if they were looking for something to be offended by. Which of course, most Americans always are

Feel free to delete this topic, since I'm just looking to be offended by a man who turns my stomach.

I think Taratino's a damn good filmmaker, but he DOES like the sound of his own voice sometimes. I just think in this instance, he's sort of right.

He's certainly said some stupid things before, but I think you're reaching quite a bit on this one, Doug.
