Pretty good so far. 10 minute show for a buck. Takes about as long to read an actual comic so 1 issue 1 dollar ain't bad.

Not a fan of the voice actress for Jessica Drew but it could grow on me. Just gotta get used to the accent.

Although I must admit I'm a sucker for the novelty of Motion Comics. Its better than the watchmen ones as it has more than 1 person doing all the voices.

I've seen this on G4. Pretty neat, actually. Although I was lost with the premise, for the most part, I enjoyed it.

I was reading the comic book last night and then I saw the motion comic. They added dialogue to the motion comic.

Surprisingly, not many reviews or comments about this stellar book. If you're not caught up with the whole wave that is Spider-Woman, you should. I notice there's no "Agent of S.W.O.R.D." in the title. Maybe that's to prevent future misunderstandings between this series and the newly branded (ha) S.W.O.R.D. book. There's no connection to the two whatsoever. But no fear, there's no disconnect between Jessica Drew and her watch, her secret job to prevent Skrulls from inhabiting earth. Now there's where Viper comes in. The self-depressive dialogue is reminiscent of Bendis' excellent Alias series. It's more mature, talky, but with moving dialogue; no simple New Avengers quips here. The art from Alex Maleev is still outstanding in terms of both mood and stature, the only problem could be that some of the expressions on the wonderful faces of our babe leads lack the proper emotional response to the dialogue. Other than that, the artwork contains a very dark, noir-meets-X-Files feel to it.

While this issue does take it's time making it's points, and doesn't exactly push the plot where we want it. I can't help but love where Bendis & Maleev are taking this. If this is half as good as their team-up on Daredevil, we're in for a treat.

I actually bought the motion comic for this, you can get the entire first arc for just $8.99 on iTunes. I thought it was pretty damn good, so if you want something a little different I recommend checking it out.

But I plan on buying this in trade eventually cuz that art is just stellar.

Not saying I don't like the book because I am enjoying it and I love the art but even for Bendis this is slow moving. Or it seems that way anyway.

I didn't care for this and glad I DLed it only (I was apprehensive about buying this to begin with). It wasn't worth that either so I won't bother with this series.

I know it's a common criticism of Bendis that his books don't move very fast but it normally doesn't bother me. This book, however, is moving at a noticeable snail's pace and I have to say it's starting to lose me already. I can't see that I'll be giving it too many more chances.

Read this on the shitter in 3 minutes. Thankfully the art is pretty gorgeous and the interaction between Madame Hydra and Jessica is terrific. I mean, this dialogue is some of Bendis best. It's just too bad there isn't enough of it. More aptly, the widescreen art is what makes this one go by so fast. Trying to emulate Whedon's Astonishing X-Men might not be a bad thing for some, but there are way too many panels with no dialogue. It's wonderful to see pictures tell the story, and we know how some of the best comics in history contained "silent storytelling."

That was when the books were a dollar and some change.

Let's get this moving Bendis, because I love Jessica...and especially that crazy Skrull splash.

3/5 Bags&Boards - Terrific book if it were just a mere prologue to more story. You could just read this in the store as you walk towards the register. Maybe worth the price for its art.

I liked it. Does it kinda crawl along? Yes, but I'm entertained enough not to care.

I do have a question, why can't Jessica fly? Was it explained in a previous issue because I'm blanking.

I think this book needs a snazzier logo. The one it has doesn't pop enough.

Bendis does some wonderful things conversation-wise with pulling tension for panel, but I can't help but feel things are just going...nowhere. This was my new favorite book out the gate, now it's becoming the mediocre story I feared. I love her characterization, I don't mind any of the sequences at all. The book's simply moving too slow, and if this is the end of the arc, I'm not sure I'd now recommend this trade. Bendis has far too many "see you next month!" final pages and--considering the Thunderbolts aren't much right now in the grand scheme--I don't know how excited I could get for the next one. If this book didn't feel so "old" and actually jumped into Seige, I might feel differently.

Again, the artwork, while many will complain it's motionless (ironic, considering this was a "motion" comic first), is still awe-inspiring to look at. Alex Maleev draws Jessica Drew and her Madripoorian friends as realistically as possible, all the while making the landscapes and atmosphere as murky and as insipid as any. It's too bad the pencils don't do enough to save Bendis' tugboat-chugging script.

3/5 - I really don't want to drop...but...

While I will agree this is slow, and not as good as when the book started, I still enjoyed it. The art is fantastic, as is the characterization. I'm sticking with it.

I didn't know Jessica couldn't fly/glide without her costume. Is that something that was previously established, or did Bendis come up with it?

#5 was good, but it does read too fast and the story is irrelevant to Marvel as a whole now. I might get issue 6 to cap it off, but I dunno if I'll stick around much longer than that.

I had been finding this too slow and was about to cancel but for some reason this issue really got me interested again. Not sure what it was but I really enjoyed it. Have to agree with all you guys about the art too - it was stunning.

I can't say I liked the concept regarding Jessica's flying (I hadn't heard of it before either) because it just seems a little confused. It might make sense if all she ever does is jump off buildings and out of planes but I'm sure we've seen her take off from the ground which doesn't really gel with what Bendis is saying here. If I get what Bendis is saying, she can kind of control her direction when descending but can't fly horizontally without the glider wings on her costume to help with that. I kind of get that but I don't think it allows for her to take off from a standing start off the ground.

I think issue #7 is actually the end of this first arc.

I really enjoyed this issue. There were a few problems I had though. It felt a little dated because of the Thunderbolts team, and some of the art made the action a little hard to follow, but otherwise I enjoyed it. It's nice to see Jessica kicking some ass. I'm curious to see how the fact that Norman doesn't know about SWORD plays out.

Spider-Woman is now officially my favorite female Marvel superhero (and maybe favorite female superhero overall).
