I was wondering what everyone's card games were. Any favorite cards? How about cards you detest? If there was something you could change about a given card game, what would it be? Discuss Card games in general if you like as well. Wink

oh, and I love playing Spider Solitaire on my computer. It really gives my brain a workout and keeps the logic sharp (well, as sharp as it could be). But there's no way I'd want to play that one with physical cards, because I wouldn't even know how to set it up. Very Happy

I don't remember how to play it now, but I used to like to play 'Four Corners'.

I play a LOT of Magic the Gathering. I also play Pokemon with my kids, the good news, they hate the uber expensive Yu-gi-oh and they are almost ready to start learning MTG. I have a ton of marvel Vs cards, but nobody to play with. The game is really good and probably the closest to Magic in quality and play as anything I've ever tried, but they get rid of the entire mana-screw problem.

I've played other games; Star-trek, Star-wars, Net Runner, Jihad, and some other CCGs, but my absolute favorite cardgame isn't really a CCG, more something you buy and have some beers and a good time with friends. That game is Illuminati.

but I get to play magic much more often and online with MTGO

Currently I barely have time to play with myself, never mind card games.

I used to play Magic about 10 yrs ago. Then I discovered the decipher Star Wars game and some game about were-wolves. I loved both cause if I had the time to play a good long game, I'd play Star Wars. If I only had like 30-60 mins to kill, I'd play the other.

More recently I used to play the Pirates "pocketmodel" game. Again, that was when I had the time.

You know, my best friend and I first bonded over a game in which I targeted the fuck out of his Main Generators to win a game. I would take your generators out back and get them pregnant.

I played Star Wars (rather well, actually), and a little bit of Magic.

Bring it. My entire set of Figrin Dan and the Modal Nodes can and have successfully taken on an AT-AT assault.

I'm old school bro. Last time I played SWCCG Orgy and No Doubt still had hit singles.

I tried to get into Magic The Gathering when M10 came out. Bought into that and Zendikar but never really wrapped my head around it. I found deck construction to be a chore and the guys I played with are mostly meta and tournament players. I had a great card pool as I bought a lot of stuff when I started into it but I'm all about the pretty pictures and fluff.

The card games that I'm really loving are the self contained ones like Gloom, Yetisberg and until two guys moved away, 5-6 player A Game of Thrones matches were a ton of fun.

I still play the hell out of MTG.

LOTR was ok, and a nice change from MTG from time to time.

Have you heard of Warstone? Stumbled across it as the hosts of a podcast I listen to frequently had a Youtube video of them playing it. It's a combination of a tcg and marbles. Got a kick out of that but could never seeing myselg buying into it.

Best tcg memories for me come in A Game of Thrones lcg and fond memories of Alien vs Predator back in junior high.

I actually have a big magic tournament this weekend. It is Zendikar sealed deck. I actually hate the block myself, especially in limited. I hate having 15 non-basic lands be part of my cardpool from the get. There are a lot of dead cards in the sealed format as well. There should be about 240 + players so I have a long day ahead of me.
