I caught up on Exiles, too, a while back. I neeeed that Flash run of Johns'. Ex Machina, you have to tell us if it is good. I know it is Vaughan, but still. I need more opinions before I would think of getting this.

I used to read Ex Machina until summer 2007 (when dropped all my reads). It annoys me that it's being remembered mostly for the surprising end of issue #1, but the book has so much more to offer. Sometimes I don't really get it (politics and superheroes?!) but it's nice take by BKV on politics and heroism post-9/11.

Joshua, I don't know in what point your at, but the last issue I read was toward the end of the bizarre futuristic old man story; it was my least favorite story of the book.

(Copy and pasted from another thread. Just in case some of you on here are getting deja vu. Wink )

Another killer buy!

Incredible Hulk (2nd series) #106-112. For some reason I'd never got the WWHulk within the main series. Weird that I skipped it. Oh, and also Hulk: Future Imperfect #1 & 2!!! They cost me, surprisingly, under $10 each for NM. So surprised to find them. Finally got Danny Ketch #2, completing that mini and the latest Ghost Rider has to offer.

Brit: Cold Death. The second one-shot GN, completing my Brit collection.

America vs. Justice Society #1-4
Last Days of the Justice Society Special
Jonni Thunder #1-4. (Obscure mini based off of Johnny Thunder, but with a girl and an idol that turns her into a genie of sorts.)
JSA: Strange Adventures #1-6.
JSA: All Stars #1-8
JSA: Secret Files #1 & 2
Justice Society of America (1st series) #1-8.
Justice Society of America (2nd series) #1-10.
JSA: Our Worlds at War
(one-shot)
JSA: Classified #1-39
JSA: The Liberty Files #1 & 2
JSA: The Unholy Three #1 & 2.

^ These means that I finally have every titled JSA comic ever. Very Happy B)

Other DC:
The Brave and The Bold (2nd series) #1-6. The entire mini featuring The Butcher, Green Arrow, and The Question!
L.A.W.: Living Assualt Weapon #1-6. A mini based on Charlton characters. A different one eache ish. This and the one above give me all the prominent Question stories in the history of the DCU. All I need is the Charlton Ted Kord series and Mysterious Suspense #1, and I'll have The Question, Vic Sage, completed.
Showcase #73. That's right! The first appearance of THE CREEPER. Cost me $45 for this CGC graded, 8.0 comic. I finally have it. Very Happy

Sorry for the flaunting, but it was fun. I'm still salivating!

I love Ex Machina. I was working at a comic shop when it first came out and would read it for free. I stopped reading for awhile after I quit. It wasn't until issue 25 that I started buying it, but I still love it.

In the last few months I've gotten a hold of at least 4 of the Spawn: Godslayer issues. At some point I plan on gettin' the AoA issues, Onslaught series, and the ones leading up to Wolverine getting his adamantium ripped out. Wouldn't mind gettin' some old Spider-Man issues too.

While he was letting me take some issues for myself, I refused to ask for anything with a cover price of $0.40 or below or anything that was signed.

I see. If he is still up, you may want to do a little research on prices and go have another look see. Dave Stevens, creator/writer/illustrator of The Rocketeer, died last year. His signed books would be worth...who knows how much if it is the right person.

Well, that's a downer. I just basically impulsed this one. It was a buck an issue, and me being a Charlton fan, especially The Question's, I said what the hay.

Well that's just the point, I wasn't taking the really valuable stuff. That seems like it would be kind of rude.

I was helping him organize his collection to sell and most of the stuff he was letting me take with me. He probably would have let me take more valuable stuff if I had asked, but I didn't want to take advantage of his generosity. I did tell them that if he couldn't get a good price for his Silver Age Flash comics that I would make a him a reasonable offer.

As you may have saw, I recently made a deal to purchase 26 Silver Age Flash comics for $100 and I had to insist on that price, he probably would have just given them to me.

Just picked up a nice copy of Ultimate X-Men #1 (Diamond variant cover) autographed by Adam Kubert and Mark Millar. See here The link is only an example of what I purchased. It's in great condition and only cost me $25. Not bad.

Yeah Ultimate X-Men used to be good when they had Millar/Kubert doing the book. Kind of took a dump when Kirkman took over.
