it's not even a twist. It starts in 1991, and then says 10 years later, and apparently even has some shots of the twin towers, just not front and center. if you don't at least suspect a movie set in new york in 2001 might have something to do with 9-11, you're an idiot. If you didn't catch the fact that it was set in 2001, you're a bigger idiot. Why else would they set it in 2001, if it was just a romance, it'd be set today.

When in the trailers or in any of the ads have they said that it is set in 2001 New York? They might say that somewhere, but I have never heard that.

Well, if you used your reading skills to read my last few posts, you would find out that very early in the film it's established that it's set in 2001. So no where in the trailer, but in a few ads and the first poster, the two towers are seen in the skyline. Seriously, typing remember me into google will clear all of your questions up.

Theaters might still burn down if
Spoiler:

If Twi-tards call for the death of Emilie deRavin for "daring" to star as a romantic opposite for "Mr. Cullen", I can't imagine they'd take the ending very well, either...

Actually yes, very much so, a movie made today that is set in new York in 2001 will obviously be about the towers falling. Unless it's a biography of a real person (hint: it's not) a movie going out of it's way to be set there and then will definately feature 9-11 in some way. Hell, a film based on a real life or events set in NY in 2001 is probabaly going to be about 9-11. Sp shove your eye rolls up your ass, and take a : thumbs down

And if the movie were set in January, then what? No, that's no, wait for it......idiotic to assume such. The leaps in logic one has to make to arrive to that conclusion is ridiculous. The only time the twin towers or 9-11 should be included in a movie is if the towers themselves play a role in the movie. That's like saying a movie that has Washington, DC in 2001 must have a reference to the Pentagon being fucked over or we should expect it. A movie set 2001 inb the US must have a reference to 9-11. That is simply not the case. One day does not equal the whole year. Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes tongue Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

The more you write, the retardeder you seem to me. But just in this thread, lol. It's no stretch to assume that a romantic drama that could take place in any city, and in any year, is going to feature 9-11 somehow when it goes out of it's way to be set in NY and 2001. Seriously, if you're sitting watching a movie, and note that it was produced this year, but is set in 2001 in NY and you don't at least have a small tickle at the back of your mind about the WTC coming into play, you're probabaly wearing a helmet. Always.

Remember Me - Page 3 Billny10 Laughing

Because a movie set in 1993 in New York that is a romantic drama is about the WTC bombing. Again, you're associating one event with the whole year. That's the height of stupidity.

Personally, sure, but then again, I also think that with anything thing I'm watching may turn pornographic at some point. I'm simply saying that there are people who won't see it coming and they would be quite justified in not seeing it coming.

9-11 is the single most recognizable day of american modern history (if not American history ever) The 93 bombing is not.

question: "Hey, this movie takes place in New York in 2001. What's it about?"

THE WHOLE FUCKING WORLD: "9-11"

So hey, the movie isn't even about 9-11, but it is about someone who dies in the attacks, as did you know, like a jillion people.

Also, retardeder was a joke, to show how not serious I am when I call you retarded.

You do know I was messing around, right? That's why I used "dohohohoho" instead of gettin' all indignant and what not. I understand it was a joke (as was your whole post. Ohhhhhhhh snap!). That's why I was playing around as opposed to laying it down and going for the shutdown argument (I'll save that for later). The fact that it takes place in 2001 in NYC is not the forefront of the movie. It's not touted as a major thing from what I've seen. People will se a romatic drama that takes place in NYC. The fact that it takes place in 2001 does not seem to be a fact that they delcare from the rooftops. Hell, mentioning once somewhere in the movie is simply not enough. I think you're expecting too much from people in general. Most people watch a movie with a scant idea of what it's about, with some idea of if whether it sucks or not, as opposed to a number of details.

And you're stupidity is still in the exosphere. Laughing

Yeah. I'd say Independence Day beats the crap out of Pearl Harbor, 9/11, and anything else tragic. And even the honorable days of U.S. history.

Um...also, this movie has the right to be what it is. Doesn't mean I don't think it is stupid, with a seemingly weak, shock-inducing plot-device. But you can't be offended by someone's right to make a story based on history.
Turns into the oxymoron of a redneck leftist: "This is 'Merica, and you can say whatever you like! Dag-flabbit! Go burn down a KFC or McDonalds if this fiction bothers you." Wink

The ending is bullsh-t. Not because you don't any plane crash into a window but the fact that people were pissed over nothing. I shouldn't have gotten the controversy it had. I haven't seen this film but if I'm estimating any better, this was a nice shocking twist but whatever.
