So, I know that we "officially" (actually... probably don't need those quotation marks) hate Wizard World around here. BUT, is anyone actually planning on going to Wizard World Austin?
I ask this because everything's better with Pop! Right now I'm leaning towards Austin (over Dallas Comic Con) on the hopes that they'll bring a few of those people from their other shows along for the ride and a least a few awesome artists will be hanging out in Artist Alley.
I have a baby girl due in July, which means I won't be able to hit any summer shows... so the timing of WWA is pretty good.
The last show I went to was Wizard World Texas the year before they canceled it. It wasn't amazing, but it wasn't bad either. I got a pretty awesome color sketch from Liefeld (yeah, yeah, a lot of people hate him) of Captain America for free (don't worry, he didn't have D cups). I got a sweet sketch of Lando Calrissian from Tom Hodges - who is hilarious, btw. There wasn't anyone from the entertainment industry there I cared about (in fact, friggun Laura Vanderwhatever cut in front of me to ride the mechanical bull... jerk).
Mostly, I'm in it for some cool, cheap sketches and as many fairly priced maquettes/busts/statues and graphic novels as I can lay my hands on. Plus, I just love the convention experience.
Anywho... I know there are several Texans running amok in these forums and at least one other Oklahoman. Anyone planning on attending?
