I was just thinking and hoping that the next DC Universe animated movie would be a Batman/Bat-Family movie. The movie looks legen...wait for it...dary. Jensen Ackles as Red Hood and Neil Patrick Harris as Nightwing makes me happier than I can even put into words. It's better than having sex with the hottest woman in the world as she feeds you pizza.

James Woods made a great Owlman. And Chris Noth was a really good Luthor. I also enjoyed William Baldwin as Batman. Batman is always a worry for me voice-wise. Kevin Conroy's voice is so ingrained in me as Batman that it can be hard to hear others voice him. This time around I thought they made a good choice. Oh, and Jonathan Adams' MM was great as well.

Andrea Romano is just awesome. She is by far my favorite voice director. If I see she's working on a project I know the voice acting will be good.

I loved Josh Keaton as The Flash, but I kept thinking of Spider-Man every time he talked.

I loved the design of Luthor's armor. That's the kind of thing that Lex should be wearing in the comics, not that gaudy green and purple thing.

Is Tim Drake going to be in the movie? There was a design that looked like him, but then that costume was in the memorial in the Batcave making it seem like it was Jason's. I wish Tim was going to be in it. He's one of my favorite characters, and I want to see him in animation again.

U sir have truly earned my vote for Biggest Fanboy. I think I'm going to send in my order to Amazon to pick up the movie.

Then, I'm glad I have never seen the new Spidey cartoon, because I always have that problem, too!

This was fantastic. DC animated movies are just outstanding. The voice acting was really on and I even liked William Baldwin as Batman although I wasn't a huge fan of the Batman design. It wasn't horrible but I don't think it was as good as the other character designs. I loved the supporting characters involved like Black Canary, Aquaman, Red Tornado, Red Arrow, Black Lightning and so on. The good version of the Joker was awesome and Harley? Well done. I thought the fight scenes were simply outstanding. I loved each and every one of them and there was enough character interactions that it all seemed very well-balanced. Overall, this is a buy as in go out and buy this gem of a animated movie. Bravo DC. Bravo. thumbs up

Got this for my bro for his birthday. Well, not yet. I'm headed there in a little bit. Got him the Blu-Ray one because it was all they had. So expensive. But, it came with the Spectre short and I'm gonna get to watch sometime. *rubs hands* mwhahaha!

I have yet to even watch the Spectre short. I don't care much for the Spectre (at least when he's not being written by Geoff Johns and/or having his face torn off).

You know, I am VERY tempted to get the JLA: Earth-2 trade. I am NOT a Morrison fan, AT ALL, but I loved this movie so much that I really want to check out what inspired it.

Great review man, i totally agree. I really dug this movie. The action scenes, character designs and animation were all done very well. I liked the voice talent as well.

Now don't get me wrong I love Kevin Conroy's Batman. When I think Batman I hear his voice but I don't mind them switching up the voice talent for the different features. It gives other people a chance to play with the characters. Plus it keeps the stories different from each other. Andrea Romano sure knows how to pick voice talent.

I think the Batman: Under the Red Hood looks pretty cool. I've never read the actual story but after seeing the preview it makes me want to. Plus Jensen Ackles & Neil Patrick Harris doing voices is pretty damn cool.

Also, that Specter short was awesome. i really don't know anything about the character but I loved the way the story was done. I especially liked the grainy look and "scratches in the film" effect that it had.

All in all this release is one of my favorites of the DC direct-to-DVD releases.
Now if only Marvel would step up their game with their animated DVDs.

I'm sure you'll hate it anyway because of your distaste for Morrison, but here are great excerpts from the original: (spoilerific)

I enjoyed this movie. Nice action sequences and interesting characters. Superwoman was strangely hot in a psychotic sort of way. The Spectre short reminded me of old fashioned horror and detective movies. definitely enjoyed it.

I like the trade, but then again I like Morrison. It isn't that hard to follow, it's a bit different than the DVD but the DVD got the point of it.

I'll agree with you that making the CSA like the mob was pretty damn interesting and I really wish they played on that more.
