I like that reason. I honestly thought it was a better than Pirates first movie and I thought Curse of the Black Pearl was fun.

I liked Curse of the Black Pearl more than this, it's actually one of my favorite movies of all time.
good luck finding your phone Batman, whats the sit-rep now?

Thanks man. Luckily I did find it. It had fallen out of my pocket, but it landed in my car in between the seat and the door.

I heard that this was an unpublished graphic novel that was part of a new trend of comic book movies that are made into movies before publishing or something way back in an issue of Wizard.

^ Honestly have never read the books. Fun interpretation, though, right?

Hadn't heard that, although there are a lot of adaptations of Sherlock Holmes in graphic novel form.

I heard about that. It was in the books, Holmes had a small amount of cocaine occasionally in his pipe and Watson got him off it.

I saw this on my birthday, I really enjoyed it. Mark Strong is going to make an awesome Sinestro.

Our adaptation? It's written by Australians and directed by a Brit. It's only 'ours' in that it was released in the US first and stars two Americans (Downey and McAdams). tongue

McAdams is Canadian actually. *puffs pipe*

^Whoa... Good muscle on your side, just keep him away from electricity. And choking doctors.

Been with my co-workers to the movie on Saturday. I didn't hate the film, but it was... I don't know. It was okay, not very impressive. Downey and Law made a good duo and McAdams was pretty fine too. I loved Strong as the bad guy. He should play every bad guy in every film from no on. Especially Sinestro, that'll be perfect. It's good that they left things open for a sequel, not starting right away with Moriarty (just like they didn't start with Mandarin in Iron Man), just planting the seeds.

I'm pretty sure, though i kinda wish it was Jackie Earl Hayley since in Van Sciver drawing JEH looks like him.

Haley would be AWFUL as Sinestro. Sinestro is not a street rat, which is what I always immediately think of when I see JEH. He -looks- like the crazy homeless guy he played in Watchmen, and I don't see that being consistent with the character of Sinestro.

That being said, if that giant has been tapped for Sinestro, that makes even less sense. Sinestro needs to be an aristocratic-type, just oozing with arrogance and confidence every time he's onscreen. Sinestro's not a bully or brawler; he's a man who is completely convinced that he knows the right way to bring order to the universe.

Saw this the other day. It wasn't bad, but I was completely underwhelmed. Hopefully the sequel will be better
