Brightest Day

Yeah, I am much more bummed about JL: Generation Lost ending. I so hope Winick can continue on with those characters in another book.

I'm just curious to see how all of the events from this event play out later on. It seems 2011 has a lot of stuff in store for the DC Universe with Brightest Day ending and Flashpoint starting up. Not to mention the War of the Green Lanterns and then the War of the Lanterns. It's a lot of stuff going on.

I really had no idea Brightest day was going to be 25 issues. even my comic book guy siad to me "when s this going to end?" and I said "I thought 4 issues ago.." I am interested in flashpoint war of the green lanterns and war of the lanterns really there is no better time than now to be a green lantern fan!

So it looks like Aquaman got his hand back?

I wonder if he'll actually get his hand back, or if that's just a cover.

I think it'd be cool if the white ring/entity/power regrew his hand. Make is so that if any of those brought back who haven't completed their mission yet get healed if anything major happens to them, so that they are able to finish their mission.

So does this mean Hawkman/Girl get to come back?

Not necessarily. The artist probably drew this months ago and they obviously wouldn't want to spoil that moment on a cover.

I like how Aquagirl is shown on the cover, yet is not mentioned in Aquaman's team for Aquawar. I doubt very much that Lorena is the 'surpise guest star.'

I kind of doubt it too but it would be nice to see her in the issue.

#20 made it pretty obvious the Hawks won't be "dead" for long. No way they'd kill off them

aren't really dead. I'm looking forward to this book coming to an end.

I liked this issue. It adds some future stories involving the Aquaman family and we seem to have a pretty cool Aquaman family at that. I like the interaction between the new Aqualad and Aquagirl and I was glad that Lorena made an appearance and I hope we see more of her.

Brightest Day #20

Decent issue. I feel like this book should be better than it is though.

I thought Mera raising the ocean was a cool scene. I was surprised as to who opened the Bermuda Triangle as well. Looks like next issue will focus on J'onn again. I don't think we've really seen that 'wow' moment yet from this book, but I'm still interested in seeing how this all turns out.

Issue 20 had some pretty bad ass moments. It's starting to pick up in quality, but agree with Batman25JM, this feels like it should be better.

#20 really didn't grab me at all. Not sure why but I was just kind of underwhelmed. I agree the Mera bit pushing the ocean back was impressive but I have to admit I kept looking at it and thinking...so, she's going to kill half the local population when she releases that water!

I didn't like Jackson's use of the word "Dad" when referring to Black Manta (and I think it would have been in inverted commas if being used saracastically) - it just struck me as something he'd never say (and am I the only one who feels like that kid has new powers all the time? Or at least a bit confused about what his powers are supposed to be?). I also didn't buy the snappy repartee between him and Aquagirl - just read phony and forced to me. Overall I thought this was one of the poorer written issues.
