I didn't discover Denis Leary until I tuned in to this show. I haven't seen The Job yet but until I get through the 4th and 5th season, I will. This is one of the reasons why I love cable television because it gets away with things you can't on local. I love Tommy Gavin-he's a very deep character that Californication's Hank Moody (it's 3rd season finale was something else though) and I appreciate this series a bit more than Nip/Tuck. Nip/Tuck had awesome stories but with the patients, they were just complete shock value and no as realistic as Rescue Me.
