We tried this back at the Wizard boards and while I don't know how well everyone who participated kept it up, it certainly started with enthusiasm and fervor. I know there are at least a couple other people who are working on losing weight/strengthening muscle and if enough people are interested, we could start it back up.
If I remember things correctly, the way we did it before was after enough people had decided to "sign up", we separated into teams, people set personal goals, and then we updated our progress on a week to week basis. You don't have to give specific numbers or anything, as some people prefer confidentiality, it's more about friendly competition, giving each other advice, and keeping each other motivated and accountable.
