Anything that comes to mind (during recorded history, cuz, prior to that, you could list first single-celled life forms, life evolves into fish and other waterborn creatures, life evolves legs and moves onto dry land, the meteor that destroyed the dinosaurs, Pangea breaks apart, man evolves from apes (or whatever the current theory is), man learns to control fire, man creates the wheel, man learns to domesticate animals etc. etc...), from the birth of Jesus Christ to the Fall of the Soviet Union...what in your opinion are the top ten biggest things that happened in the world?

The Robert Frost of Poop
The Rise and Fall of the Roman Empire as it gave us a model for future civilization.
Christ, whether you believe the hype or not.
The printing press.
America. Not because I think America is great and the end all, be all, but because I believe America has been a MAJOR catalyst for events the world over.
Flight.
The industrial revolution, from which automobiles and commercial flight were made possible, thereby connecting the world in a new way.
Splitting the atom.
World War 2 and all that it entails, from the holocaust to the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasake and everything in between.
The Civil Rights Movement.
The rise of the personal computer/Internet, as it has further united the world in a way previously unimaginable.

Oooooo....Star Wars is a pretty good one, although I think most peoples' opinion of the universe as a whole have been tainted by the prequels.

Top 10 Franchises in History, most def.

I'd say Woodstock was a pretty monumental occasion. That was the turning of the tides from buttoned-down, behind-closed-doors way of life of the 50's to the society of today.
