I just finished this week's episode. The discussion about The Killing Joke was very thought-provoking. I loved that book when I read it in high school, mostly because it put those characters in such a dark and adult-oriented story, which at the time was groundbreaking.

I think Barbara's treatment was a by-product of that era's creators being eager to put adult themes in their comics. I'm not defending it, and Meg's rant against the book is valid, but I think that was Moore's reason for subjecting Barbara to all that torture in the book. It's not the first time he did something like that either...look at how the original Silk Spectre was treated in Watchmen. And he calls Frank Miller mysoginistic. It is disturbing that it's so prevalent in so-called "all ages" comics nowadays, though. I wrote a similarly-themed column a few months ago about how children have been treated in mainstream comics lately.

Anyway, good episode, ladies. Keep up the great work!

I agree that shouldn't be 3D movies, I think it can also hurt the viewers eyes.

Has anyone heard of William Castle? He had this ghost viewer which is like 3D glasses for his movie 13 Ghosts. To see the ghosts at certain times in the movie look through the red part. If you don't believe in ghosts, look through the blue part.

I know all about william castle. They made a movie about him (kinda) Called Matinee. a Great movie BTW!

Don't worry, the stench is gone. We had a hazmat team come in and clean the place up.

Having gone to the convention on Sunday, it was great meeting Captain Painway and the rest of the PoP crew. Sunday was pretty crazy. As much as I did that day, there were a few things I didn't get a chance to do. One thing I kind of regret was getting the exclusive White Lantern Hal Jordan which I have since seen and it looks so pretty. I also met Joe Kubert which was one of the highlights of that day but I actually had something with me for him to sign but when I saw him I was in line to meet Paul Levitz and I got a little star struck that after I got my picture taken with him and talked to him a little bit, he left and then I remembered I had something for him to sign. Oh well. So, I also met Paul Levitz who was very cool. I met Gail Simone and Nicola Scott who were both completely awesome. I got a bunch of dollar comics and some cool geeky apparel. Overall, this was a fun time.
