POP! Magazine: Would be nice!

Over at the WUMB, Foxy posted that POP! should make a mag...I'd buy it.

Seeing the status of Wizard and what's going on in the print world - no way am I ever going there. Besides, I was already involved once with a web magazine (for free) which died four issues in.

I'm going to take the Transformers coverage I did and make a magazine out of it for my portfolio. i can always sell it and if there's interest, do a quarterly thing with some of the web content.

I didn't suggest it, I had a lot of people at the con asking if PoP! had a magazine. I do agree it'd be a huge gamble, and probably a loosing one. But maybe doing a small brochure or mini mag outlining the site with article snippets to hand out at cons would be a good way to get people to the site.

I absolutely think this is a good idea for future cons. Little teaser articles that at the end say "click for more" or "click the image to see the rest of the gallery."

Lulu.com is a self-publishing site that's a lot like cafe press for books (magazines). We lay it out and upload it and they're produced as-ordered with no upfront cost. I've used them for portfolio pieces in the past.
