The Lovely Bones

Any fans of Peter Jackson, Alice Sebold's book of the same name, existential films like What Dreams May Come, or good movies, this is right up your alley.

"In 1973, Susie Salmon (Ronan) is raped and murdered by a neighbor, George Harvey (Tucci), a serial killer of young girls and women. She finds herself in 'the in-between' a Heavenlike place, observing her family as they grieve for her. She also watches her killer who, having covered his tracks successfully, is preparing to murder again. Susie struggles to balance her desire for vengeance on Harvey and her desire to have her family recover from their loss."

It was boring as all hell, and depressing on top of that. I don't know, I was probably bored because I know damn well that if I was in heaven, I wouldn't be spending time dreaming up a field to stand in. I'd be dreaming up rollercoasters, Hogwart's castle, and the Mach 5.

I liked What Dreams May Come and even I thought it was a bit depressing. This movie loooks good. kind of a pseudo-ghost story. I'll watch it.

9 days until this movie. Can't wait. I'm actually wanting to see this a little more than Avatar.

I didn't like What Dreams May Come..to depressing and this movie looks just as depressing.

Zoolander is awesome.

I saw the trailer and said 'wow. really? this peter jackson's first film in years.' I'm really not digging this film, also Lovely Bones his a horrible title

The Lovely Bones was a fantastic book though the having sex with her old boyfriend as a ghost thing was a lil creepy. Can't wait to see the movie. Though depressing, I liked What Dreams May Come.

Looks interesting, though my interest will be gauged by reviews.

The reviews I've found have been pretty mixed thus far. Almost right down the middle and barely anyone right in the center with their reviews. On RottenTomatoes, it has one percent higher, at 56%, than What Dreams May Come so far. Heh. Just thought I'd check and bring that up.

I'll say that it seems the Brits tore it a new one.

Damn. I forgot this won't be out until Jan. 15 for nationwide. Sucks to wait. Guess Avatar will be the last movie in the theatre for the year.
