The MM story was a good one. I'm waiting for the Females back story!

Issue #36 was great. Not only for the MM story but for last couple of pages where MM is talking to Hughie about the Brooklyn Bridge.
Spoiler:

I thought that was a great commentary by Ennis and the world as it is today.

Yeah I totally agree. Actually Ennis makes comments like that now and then snuck into these funny books where I think they're quite astute. A few issues ago (I think it was the St Patrick's Day one) Billy Butcher and Hughie are talking about how they don't understand why Americans who are generations removed still call themselves Irish or Italian or Polish or whatever and it was just this amazing conversation that so captured thoughts I've had before myself. Of course Ennis, like me, is not American (but obviously tries to understand America) so it's not such a shock he's had similar thoughts to me but I thought he summed the whole thing up so well I found myself nodding my head while reading it. I like that he doesn't hit you over the head with it but subtly makes it part of his characters views and thoughts.

That's what makes it so strong. He sneaks it in there during all the explosions and fighting. It makes his point more poignant.

I was a bit late reading #37 but The Frenchman's "origin" story was a pretty funny issue. Frenchie was obviously bullshitting Hughie to make a point but the whole thing was pretty humourous. He comes from the town of Franglais where they speak an ancient and unique dialect (ie. half French/half English) Laughing . It cracked me up how everyone in the town called him Frenchie.

Anyway, if you like making fun of the French then this was the issue for you.

I suspect next issue's origin of The Female is going to take a more serious turn.

#38 with its origin of The Female was bloody excellent. I loved all the Aliens quotes. "They're comin' outta the walls. They're comin' outta the goddamn walls! - "What're you talkin' about--?". Laughing Great stuff.

And what a fantastic cover.

Ennis said last year at Wizard World Philly that he was going to end it at 60 but it is now going to 70. Hard to believe only 30 issues left.

There are also going to be more minis thou. I think the next one is about Butcher

Hughie is in such a deep amount of shit right now! Not often you see Butcher's confidence knocked around but I think his next emotion will be pretty nasty.

Starting to worry about Hughie now that the cat is out of the bag.

Love this book. One of my favorites every month. I'm going to miss it when it's done.
