Fucking DEPRAVED.

During a stopover in Germany in the middle of a carefree roadtrip through Europe, two American girls find themselves alone at night when their car breaks down in the woods. Searching for help at a nearby villa, they are wooed into the clutches of a deranged retired surgeon who explains his mad scientific vision to his captives' utter horror. They are to be the subjects of his sick lifetime fantasy: to be the first to connect people, one to the next, via their gastric system, and in doing so bring to life 'the human centipede'.

The trailer, ya sickos.

Really odd trailer (understatement if there ever was one). I'm all for movies where scientists use the human body as a canvas, but wtf?

Movie poster made me think of this:

Oh yeah, I remember hearing about this. Seems so weird, I have to see it. Rent, most likely.

I'm afraid it may go Turistas route. Be very light-note throughout until the end, and then give us something that isn't as shocking as 10 minutes of any of the Saw or Hostel films. Torture-porn is getting lame. Gotta give us more substance to appreciate the gore. Make us feel scared before our characters get intricately carved in excruciating ways. (Wow, that seemed creepy of me to put. No, I wasn't masturbating when typing that. tongue Heh.)

I get what you're saying. I'm so desensitized to gore it's not even funny.

Starring Demonweasel as head of the centipede. Laughing

In all seriousness, it looks like a silly movie. Just...meh.

I have to say, a whole bunch of the straight-to-DVD or distributed to america Netflix's I've watched recently and really enjoyed have all been bearing the IFC Distribution logo. They're all suprising and fresh (enough anyway). I'm about to start stalking the IFC IMBD page for my next rentals.

They did two of my slobbering recent favorites "Dead Snow" and "Black Sheep" (both international horror films, my absolute FAVORITES right now), and they did 'Pontypool' (Netflix doesn't have yet!), and 'I Sell the Dead' (was cute), plus a few others that are on my most want to see list (I WANNA see 'Valhalla Rising').

Dead Snow (aka Dod Sno) was fucking awesome.

Why am I the head? I mean, I know I'm a big mouth but damn...

That trailer did kind of make me freak the fuck out, though.

So, I watched it. gross Stupid, disgusting--gotta at least rent it. My God, it was just all so unsettling. Even after all the movies I've seen and surgery shows I've seen...it was just too much. Seeing them degraded and...ugh. No words. It isn't a must-see in as far it's a good movie, but it is just that it's a "what the fuck were they thinking when they wrote this" type of thing. The actors, especially the two actresses, who signed up for this--what were they thinking? Heh. It was a masterpiece of the morbidity of a writer's id, that's for sure.

Not to romanticize, but it was kind of Hitchcockian, specifically like Psycho. They introduce you to characters that are "relatable" (althought they do all the cliche moves possible in a horror flick), and then pretty much leave the audience with the psychopath. The way it ended...just bleak. It wasn't that torture-porn-esque like I thought it'd be. Still got my stomach churning.

Spoiler:

*************************
A sequel, titled The Human Centipede II (Full Sequence) has been planned for theaters in 2011, with filming starting in London in June 2010.[31] Full Sequence will supposedly include a centipede composed of twelve individuals.[32] Tom Six has stated that the first film will get audiences used to the idea of a human centipede, preparing them for the idea of a much more graphic and disturbing sequel, 'First Sequence' being "'My Little Pony compared with part two."[4] Tom Six has claimed that he is developing ideas for a third part, but wants to see what will happen with the second part first

Black Sheep is great. I think the same special effects team for this movie did The Lord of the Rings movie.

I was thinking of watching this movie, but after the reviews I think I will pass.
