I know a lot of us are bacon lovers (*cough* bacon explosion), so I thought we needed a bacon appreciation thread. Laughing

As an former vegetarian turned bacon fanatic, I approve this message: http://www.npr.org/blogs/health/2011/01/28/133304206/why-bacon-is-a-gateway-to-meat-for-vegetarians

We had chicken clubs last night for dinner. Delicious.

I had terrible heartburn later, though.

I enjoy bacon, though as I've gotten older I find I enjoy it when it complements something, a sandwich or salad for instance, rather than eating it by itself.

Maybe it's because I didn't get to eat it out of a warm waffle, but bacon ice cream does nothing for me, unfortunately.

6 Reasons bacon is better than true love:

1. True love only happens once in a lifetime. Bacon can happen 7 times a day, if you want it to.

2. Bacon you can keep in the fridge, true love you cannot.

3. Love is fleeting but bacon stays in your arteries for all eternity.

4. Bacon will always be there for you.

5. Bacon won't divorce you over a little "misunderstanding".

6. Bacon doesn't nag or complain.

Best Hamburger in the world:

Interurban's Honey Pepper Bacon Burger. It's got thick slices of sweet-peppery bacon that just... ... ... excuse me for a moment.

Hey, it turned me into the carnivore that I am today. Before then I only ate chicken and bacon. No hamburger, no steak... Now, well, you've seen me tear into a medium-rare steak like a goddamn animal.

But this isn't about steak. It's about bacon!

I love me some bacon. I need to find out this one brand a friend bought me. It was a smoked bacon I think, but it came as a hunk of pork in a burlap bag (1lb). It did not need to be refridgerated due to it's curing/smoking process and it was absolutely delicious (a little saltier than normal bacon). The only drawback to it was the copious amounts of fat/grease that came out of it when you cooked it. I cooked up about 6 slices for breakfast over my parents and by the time I finshed cooking the 3rd/4rth slice (this was really wide bacon), the 5th and 6th slices were submerged in liquid bacon fat.

Oh, oh so tasty though.

I mean, before going vegetarian I only ate chicken and bacon (oh, and turkey). As a kid when my parents would serve steak, hamburgers, etc., I would sit and pout and not eat any of it.

Oh man, I'm not sure how it would work logistically, but now I really want to eat some vag and waffle.

See, now I was thinking that "warm waffle" could just be code for vagina, maybe heal the scars of "blue waffle".

I don't know about some of the candy stuff in this link, but that bacon cheddar popcorn sounds delightful.

That actually does make sense. "Warm waffle" totally sounds like a euphemism for vagina, and one that has my mouth watering on two fronts.

I've never tried squeez bacon. I would, but I doubt I would like it. I think part of the charm of bacon is its texture.
