This weekend Borders had their often-rare 40% off coupon sale. Considering there's a store right next to my work (about 20 minute drive from home), I went Thurs and Friday and got the following trades that were JUST released:

-JLA: Deluxe Hardcover Vol. 3

I just finished reading The Boys vol. 4 and will start in on Hack/Slash vol. 4 today.

I read this today at school and holy crap was I impressed. I think that this is the best stuff that I've read by Bendis. Now I need to find the second half of the series.

Batman: The Doom That Came to Gotham #1-3. While not in my top five for Elseworlds, this title was pretty impressive, with Mignola grabbing Batman mythos and combining it with Cthulhu themes was genius. Especially with how he dealt with Ra's/Talia, Killer Croc, Freeze/Ivy, Penguin and Two-Face--not to mention Bruce/Langstrom. Really worth reading. Felt like a Batman story that took place in the Hellboy universe around the times of Lobster Johnson.

Hack/Slash #31 showed up today. I am now officially caught up with the series!

Read the Oracle miniseries alittle while ago. Pretty dissapointing effort to fit in with Final Crisis and Battle for the Cowl and pretty sloppy resolution to the Wendy in a coma storyline. The last page I really didn't like for the final, like there was too much for just one splash page. It's annoying that no mentioning to what he did to Kid Eternity lately thats on the verge of a very big continuity blunder. The art was good for the first ish but it loses it's steam in the last ish, and the narration was clunky. It was like rotationg to third person to first person haphazardly. And if you have a title; Oracle: The Cure, it's pretty damn misleading if it's not about her getting a cure for her paralization! I'm often not really dissapointed by comics, but this was dissapointing to me imho.

Just read AS Superman. It was great. I really, really want Grant to write another 6 or 12 issue arc with Batman and Superman teaming up.

I just finished reading The Walking Dead Volume 1...it was really good.

Today I picked up my new comics from this week and I bought Sleeper: Season 1. I wanted to buy it and I found it for halp price so I couldn't pass it up.

Proposition Player is one of those hidden gems by Willingham, you'll like it.
Tell me if Ronin is good. One of those titles I keep passing up on the racks.

finally read 'justice' earlier. been wantin to get my hands on it for a while, was just gonna buy tha trades and waited til C2E2 to find em cheaper, but ended findin tha actual 12 issues for a good price, so i grabbed em. at first i wasnt diggin it, not sure y, but after a couple issues, i really got into it.

im plannin on pickin up 'superman: last son' next, but im not sure if i want tha trade or tha actual issues...decisions, decisions

I had the opposite reaction: I was thrilled since the project was announced and saw Ross' sketches. I ordered the series when it was originally released and was digging the initial plot. When it started developing, I realized how far this was from what I expected and the story just became too bizarre and pointless for my tastes. By the end, I really hated Justice.

i get what ur sayin, there were a few parts where im like ok, not sure about that. but overall i liked it.

I started reading the Spider-Man 24/7 hardcover.

I'm blazing through a ton of comics I got for cheap. Just read some awesome issues of the 80s Firestorm. I love it so!
