Bendis and Maleev's "Scarlet"

Heh, no lie, just the other day I was thinking about a relaunch of X-O Manowar. Not that this has anything to do with that. But the reversed letters reminded me of that.

So they didn't have time to do Spider-Woman........

No, they DID have time. Maleev got worn out by the motion stuff, essentially b/c he drew Drew a thousand times. As valuptuous as she is--hell yeah, brother--he got tired of penciling the same character over and over.

As for me, I could "pencil" Jessica forever and ever.

I assume this will suffer from the same schedule problems of Powers so Maleev can have all the time in the world he wants.

I think that it's not the full title of the book; it'll be called Rowman O-X. Just a hunch.

Also, Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips work on a new Icon book, Armchair & Strongarm, the true story of 1930s Chicago Mafia hired guns that originally came from the year 2264. Mark Millar and a the Top Five Artists in Comics* (that's how Millar called, capitals and all) will work on Harbor Ni***R (yep, that's the title), the first MAX/Icon title, an 88 thrice-a-year homo-erotic peaceful blood bath with cameos from Punisher's late dog Max and Rawhide Kid and his posse.

* 3 South-American artists you never heard about with exactly the same style; a zombified Jack Kirby and Bryan Hitch (will only supply 2 pages - a double-page splash - before going on a two-year sabbatical, but will have time to do all 88 covers: The first and last will be group shots and the rest will be one character each in 3 different poses, including the other artists and Vladimir the janitor of the Marvel offices).

Yeah, well they never had to keep doing the motion comic. That would have alleviated the volume.

Yeah, I was thinking that too. I was like : "stupid Marvel, you have the letters backwards" followed by derisive laughter.

I've enjoyed anything he's written involving the Ultimates characters. No one does Ultimate Cap like he does.

Blair Butler gives some details on the series...it's actually titled Scarlet, the "O" and "X" are just on her boobs.

Agreed.

I LOVE his Ultimate U stuff, but outside of that I don't think I've liked anything he's done.
