Tyrese Gibson Is Luke Cage?

In January 2004, Feige said that Ramsey had turned in an initial draft that was "totally contemporary Cage and a helluva lot of fun". At Wizard World Los Angeles in March 2004, director John Singleton said that Ramsey was working on a new draft for the film. In August 2006, Tyrese, a strong candidate to play Luke Cage in the film, said that the studio was doing a rewrite of the project.

I remember hearing this awhile back. I dunno, I doubt its still the case.

As soon as I saw Idris Elba in The Office I thought he would be a pretty cool Luke Cage.

Since Marvel is looking to have a cohesive movie universe, it seems a bit counter-productive to cast the same actor in multiple parts.

They can be distant cousins.

If Marvel was that concerned with a cohesive universe, they should've been more concerned about the Terrence Howard & Edward Norton situations...

Good point. How can you claim for a cohesive universe when just after their first (very successful) movie, Marvel recast one of the main characters?

So if you were to hit someone's car with your car door, would you then proceed to take a baseball bat and beat the shit out of it because hey, damage has already been done?

It seems silly to think that just because the universe isn't flawless that they may as well just abandon all sense of continuity and stop trying.

Not "stop trying", no.

But personally, while others may not agree with me, I care more about Black Panther than Heimdall. And, I already expressed my love for Idris Elba.

In a universe where James Rhodes looks like one guy, then suddenly another, and the same may happen to Bruce Banner (if we ever even see the character again), I don't see why it would be such a problem to have Heimdall also be T'Challa.

And, this from the guy who hates the Don Cheadle switch more than anyone...

What does Heimdall look like? Could there be enough of a difference in facial hair, maybe even prosthetics, to make him look far away enough from Panther? (As if it's even more than just a couple fans' desire to see the actor cast in the latter...)

I guess since actors have successfully played multiple parts in a single movie before, it could work.
