A man was stabbed near my workplace today. It wouldn't have been such a big deal if he hadn't escaped his stabber and ran right into the property of my company when I just let a truck out, so one of our gates was open. Apparently he worked for a neighboring poultry slaughterhouse and had a fight with a co-worker over a girl (from info I gathered afterwards). I didn't see the stabber and AFAIK the police is still looking for him, but the fact is that the victim came to us, probably looking for help, and screamed something like: "He's dead! I'm dead!" so I thought he or someone else was hit by the truck (since it stopped all of a sudden). Only when the victim turned away I saw a knife stuck in his back and lots of blood pouring out of him, and then noticed he was carrying another knife in his hand. My direct managers were out of work for some duty and I was with two younger and less experienced co-workers (me being the shift manager), but thankfully my boss' boss was around so he practically took command over the incident. I called an ambulance and a minute after I was off the phone a wagon was at the scene, taking the victim after about two minutes. All that time he was conscious and kept bleeding, leaving a big puddle of blood on the road outside my "booth".
Police was notified too before the ambulance was in place, but they arrived only several minutes after the victim was taken away. They closed the area of the blood (our entering gate to the factory) and started taking notes and testimonies, mine included. Meanwhile, forensics arrived too and started taking evidents and stuff, and only after about half an hour the police wrapped up and let us clean the blood, moving to investigate the victim's workplace (a pain in the ass for the whole area and especially me and my co-workers). As of this afternoon I know from online news sources that he's critical but stable, not out of danger (when I gave my testimony I was told he may not survive).
I don't likeMondays Sundays (unless tomorrow's going to be worse...)
