Math makes the world go 'round. I took math all 4 years of high school: Algebra I, Formal Geometry, AlgebraII/Trigonometry, and Pre-Calculus. Then I took one semester of Finite Math in college.

Yeah...... from 8th grade on the only way I passed math classes was by copying Lee's homework, and after I changed high schools, I went out and bought Teacher's Edition books cuz they have all the answers in them. I still failed miserably when test time came, but my homework always being right was enough to pass me. hahahahaha

Even though I didn't need anymore math credits, I took AP Calculus my senior year of high school. I usually didn't turn in the homework and the only reason I passed the course was because the teacher loved me. That said, fuck math.

Mmm... I was ahead in math, but that meant I missed the geometry segment in 6th grade or something, so then I had Geometry in high school and didn't know all sorts of shit I was supposed to. Still loved it.

Then, when I took Calculus Junior year, the teacher who was supposed to teach it retired and no one else was certified, so I got stuck with a teacher who was literally learning how to teach it AS she taught us. Not a great mix, especially for something as obtuse as Calculus.

Oh well.

Ugh, despite my utter detestation for math, I was always good at it in high school. My math series through school was geometry, algebra II, Trig/Pre-Calc, and Calculus; my last two years of high school I had to take Chem and Physics, both of which were math intensive. When I took the math placement at my transfer school I guess I tested into higher-level calc classes, so what math class did I take to fulfill my gen ed requirement. Stats, baby!

That being said, I can't stand math.

im in architecture and design - lol all my drawings are usually ballpark and estimates! BOOYAH!

Math is the one true universal language. If and when we finally make contact with an alien culture it will be probably one of the only ways we can communicate with them.
