I could be wrong, but aren't naaga like snake-ish things? If so could this be related to some kind of mini Hydra event from Marvel.

Also, I'm going to go out on a limb and say it's neither DC nor Marvel. DC NEVER communicates with us (at least so far) and Marvel rarely does. That said, I talk to a LOT of other creators/editors/whatnot on a regular enough basis that I wouldn't know where else to look.
