Superman's Top 10 Rogues

We always hear about Flash and Batman, but who're Superman's top 10 rogues?

Honorable Mentions: Mr. Mxyzptlk, Ultra-Humanite, Cyborg Superman, Mongul, Superboy Prime, Toyman, Prankster, Titano, Terra-Man, Ruin, Colonel Future, Khyber, Lord Satanis/Satanus, Master Jailer, Silver Banshee, Conduit, Neutron, Imperiex, Dominus, Live Wire, Atomic Skull, and Solaris.

I haven't read Superman in years. Besides Morrison's JLA, Final Crisis, and other crossovers I don't read much with Supes. The last thing I read was John Byrne's Man of Steel. I liked the Silver Banshee stories he did. She would be my top Supes villain, just for nostalgic reasons.

You are not reading the New Krypton storyline?

I just had to drop a whole bunch of books, so I may grab this in an omnibus when it eventually comes out.

I don't read anything really with Supes in it.

IMO Superman has by far the worst villains in comic history.

I think they're the sixth best after Flash, Batman, Spider-Man, Dick Tracy, and Green Lantern. I mean, are his villains worse than Hawkeye's, who are what, Oddball and Plant Master? Sure, Wolverine is big now and has Omega Red, Sabretooth, Lady Deathstrike, and Cyber, but they're just aberrations on the same theme imho. The only rogues gallery that I think bucks at Superman in sixth is the Fantastic Four, though I felt both rogues galleries are a bit similar.

I used to think only the Flash had a rogues' gallery worthy to be said in the same sentence with Batman's (who are my favorites), but once I started thinking about Superman's a month or two back I realized that I think I enjoy Superman's as much, if not more, than the Flash's.

My top 10 would be:

1.) Darkseid
2.) Hank Henshaw (Cyborg Superman)
3.) Bizarro
4.) Lobo
5.) Solomon Grundy
6.) Mr. Mxyzptlk
7.) Eradicator
8.) Zod
9.) Mongul
10.) Brainiac

Wow, you put the FF that high? I won't lie, I've never seen someone hold them to that regard. 90% of people play with Bats, Spidey, and Flash in different orders for the top three, but never seen FF that high. They got Doom and Galactus, and Skrulls and Annihilus have had pushes of late, but guys like Diablo, Mole Man, Blastaar, etc have really gone to the wayside. Also, for TT, I don't know if I see that personally because a lot of their villains are cast-offs (Doom Patrol, JLA, etc).

Pretty good list. Don't know about Lobo, though. I think he's more of a dick than anything.

The Titans have a great rogues gallery, probably the most underrated in comics. Brother Blood, Deathstroke, Trigon.

The FF villains are not well treated, but still look at how they hold up.

BTW, posted a really hard Superman villains quiz on Facebook. Check it out if you're a masochist.

I wouldn't count Lobo, either. He started off in Omega Men. He's more of a space teams villain, but even then he isn't solid.

I blame the movies more for that than anything else.

If public recognition is a factor in determining quality villains, than Batman has the only good rogues gallery.
