Green Lantern

Spider man's suit was never cgi. They may have touched it up with cg, but this suit is going to be completely CG.

In certain action scenes he was entirely CG, but I get your point.

well sure, he's entirely CG at some points(And he looks terrible in the first one when he is). That's not the point, nor what you said.

^ They really did gloss him up with CGI, though. Especially the lining in the outfit.

If this movie sucks it'll be a while before we see any other DC properties turn get made into a good movie... so hopefully they'll really think this about this costume and it won't be like "Steel."

No, I don't think that's correct at all. I'm pretty sure they know exactly what the suit will look like, and seeing as how it's not an actual spandex suit, but a construct of his mind, they wanted to go that route and since we can't film thoughts (yet... lol) they decided to go CG.

I don't really get the backlash over a CGI suit, I think it makes perfect sense for Green Lantern. Since the ring creates the suit it should have a certain advanced alien technology look to it for actual live action. The conventional superhero costume look works fine for the comics but for the movies a space cop should look more high-tech. From what I hear the ring will generate the suit over Hal's clothes. I think it'll look great, and apparently Geoff Johns says it looks awesome so I trust his judgment.

Mark Millar said "Wanted" was awesome through out and.... yeah. I know there's a big chance this will be good but I'd be more relaxed if the director said if he was a fan of the GL mythos or something, It gives it more of a approchable edge imo.

idk. it looks kinda nice. as far as the ring being silver with a green gem, i hope not. I'd prefer to see the ring actually be green. Maybe that's just the logo. I had the same reaction you did when I first found out the director. I suggest reading/watching interviews with the director; the guy may not really be a fan, but you get a genuine sense of respect for the stories and mythology from him. He just really seems to get it.

Still very stoked about this. Can't wait!

I'd like to point out that J.J. Abrams said he was not a fan of the Star Trek franchise when he directed the new Star Trek movie and that turned out pretty well.
