Post here albums, songs, bands, performers, etc that you like that are out of the usual "genres" or "listening preferences" that you're known for enjoying.

I'll start:

Due to my owning my first walkman when the song debuted, and lacking any tapes to listen to, Aqua's Barbie Girl would play often on the one english language radio station that played Pop Music. So its kinda ingrained in my mind and I can sing the entire damn song from memory... falsetto and all!

Bon Jovi - 7800 Degrees Fahrenheit

Their second album. Keyboard-heavy 80s cheese with some hair metal leanings, before they learned how to write really huge incredibly catchy choruses.

I used to play Best of The Corrs so many times back when it was released. I'm over them now, though.

You'll probably have to look him up, but I love listening to Sammy Kaye albums. He was a big bandleader in the 40s, and whenever I listen to him, it makes me think of my granddad. But not many people know him, and his music was sort of nonsensical (He recorded 'I Used to Work In Chicago').

Natalie Imbruglia and Alanis Morrisette, but just their first albums. My mother played them constantly during the rides to and from school.

Thats also how my Dad got me into Foreigner, A Flock of Seagulls, and the Euryhthmics.

Why, thank you! But how does listening to big band music, or Sammy Kaye in general, rank me as so gay? Just what are you inferring about my grandfather, sir? :P Laughing

Winter by Tori Amos. I go into a blissful daze when this song plays. This makes my Mogwai collection jealous.

Almost all Madonna songs. There are very few I dislike, which stands in stark contrast to my extensive Slipknot and old school Underoath collection.

Just Dance by Lady Gag. Oddly enough, I've never danced to this song.

My number one band is Depeche Mode. As I said in the other thread, esp. SOFAD & Violator. Awesome music to have sex to.

I also like almost everything by Madonna (right there with you, J Nova), Loreena McKennitt, Bond, and a lot of "one hit wonders" like London Beat's "I've Been Thinking About You," Falco's "Rock Me Amadeus," Frankie Goes to Hollywood ... The list is long.

I do have a few of my faves posted here:

if anybody wants to shop around.
