Official LOST Thread - SPOILERS

The Island was at the bottom of the ocean in "the new 2004", not "their stuff". There was no way for Ethan to leave it after Oceanic 815 landed at LAX, unless he's part Atlantean.

His mom leaves with him in 1977. The H-bomb sinks the Island (how? I don't know, but there it was, sunk in 2004).

He was already in the hospital in LA before Claire was admitted.

I didn't think it was that hard to understand.

Actually, the H-Bomb didn't sink the island. The houses shown underwater were the upgraded otherville houses, not the 70's dharma originals. Also, The producers have all but said it wasn;t the bomb. lol, they literally wouldn't shut up about dropping several "I wouldn't think it was the bomb if I was you guys" after the season premeir.

As for your other two points, I don't think anyone was questioning them, the debate comes from some people thinking Ethan is still an Other in some way, and out to steal Claires baby, and others (like me) thinking this is merely what his life is like if not raised to be an Other.

I'm just waiting for someone to shoot Kate, she is a freaking annoying douche.

This weeks episode was pretty lame. I like how the Others are like "We won't hurt your friend... trust us." *torture Sayid* "This will help your friend...It's uhhhhh medicine... trust us." *Poison Sayid*

The Others are douches too.

So I thought I'd make a list of what we know from the new universe. Copy and paste this and add to it. I'll just call it Lost 2:

The Island is underwater
The Flight is a month later
Desmond was on the plane but seems ot have maybe vanished along with Jack's dad and Lockes knives (out of those two, Lockes knives could very well just be lost luggage, no way do they not get the coffin on the right plane.)
Charlie tried to swallow the drugs instead of flushing them.
Rose and Jack's convo is revearsed.

I thought it was obvious Sun could speak English, but like on the Island, chose not to reveal it.

And if they're not married, she wouldn't want to leave him and then have no need to learn English. maybe. Maybe I heard wrong.

Yeah they're definitely still married. Sun just saw an out and went for it.

I just looekd at the transcipt and the attendent calls her "Ms. Paik" Also Jin might be saying to "button her sweater" because he thinks it would bring shame to her father, whom Jin works for. Maybe Sun is just along for the ride or Jin is escorting her for some other reason.

It has nothing to do with being an "uber-fan", or noticing things in the background or whatever.

You see polar bears in the Dharma orientation filmstrip.
You see polar bear cages.
A polar bear skeleton was in the middle east with a Dharma collar; the Orchid wheel was in a cold place, and difficult for a lone human to turn, and the "exit point" was the desert.

Yet, people are still asking for it to be "explained".

Not everything about this show is "cloak and dagger". If you just watch it, things get explained. It is not as difficult as alot of people make it out to be. No, it's not spelled out on the screen in giant, bright letters, but maybe this show isn't for you*, if that's what you* need to "get" things. *(The general "you", not specifically Peter.)

The houses looked the same to me from the 70's, from when the Others were living there, and from the underwater shot. To me.

Regardless, it changes nothing about my point: Ethan wasn't on the Island when Claire was on the plane, because the Island was underwater when Claire was on the plane.

There's no "how did he get there so fast after 815 landed" to be "explained". There may be some dark, secret reason as to why he's there, but not "how".

To answer both quotes at once: You (again, the general "you") don't have to sit & analyze every frame of film of this show, rewinding, pausing, etc. like some people do (I don't. I don't have time). But if you keep your eyes & ears open for 40 minutes, alot does get revealed, without you wondering "WTF".

Maybe I missed it, but who was wondering about how Ethan got to LA so fast? I think everyone was aware the island was under water.


And I'm with you about the polar bears. when people bring them up I want to smack em in the mouth. Also, I don't have the time or desire to look at every frame either. I let other people do it and then read what they have to say lol.

Second Time line. the plane does NOT go down and the plane lands ontime at the airport. so in a matter of a few hours. (the time it took the plane to pass over the island unscathed, land, and the time for Kate to come back for Claire) Ethan LEFT the island (on the sub presumably) got to LA, knew which hospital Claire would be brought to and I guess knowing that she would HAVE to go to the hospital, AND pretend to be a doctor who is on a first name basis with the nurses there.

I really hope they explain that.

I don't think Ethan needs a dark reason. I think that whatever the history of the island in the branching timeline is might mean that some people were never on it. Of course they are all going to run into each other, because the show is full of coincidence.

What bugged me in the pilot (and I haven't read the whole thread so...) is that Jack doesn't know where he knows Desmond from, where when they met on the island originally he was like "Hey, you are that guy from this vivid flashback"

Yeah, but if the island sank on such and such day, then maybe Widmore gave up looking for it (or died on the island) and maybe Penny and Desmond never fell in love and maybe Desmond was never running up the same stairs that Jack was when they originally met.

yeeeeeah....my bad. I actually missed the very beginning where they showed the island underwater first. I have since downloaded the episode and based on that and what you guys are saying I definitly agree.

As much as I hate to say it, I agree with the angry bald tattooed guy. Just pay attention and stop throwing stupid theories that have nothing to do with anything.
