I just read The Alcoholic. Interesting little book. I highly recommend it.

It is the only thing I've read by Ames. I'm definitely going to hunt more for his stuff in the coming year.comicgeekelly wrote:^^^ I guess the boxing scene from Bored to Death came from that fight.
Good one. Tim Sale's art is great. And, if you liked both writer (Jeph Loeb) and artist (Tim Sale) collaberation, then you should try Batman: The Long Halloween, Batman: Haunted Knights, and Batman: Dark Victory.pink*lantern wrote:Just bought my very 1st trade today!
Catwoman When in Rome .... love the artwork!

Persepolis is a movie now. I'd love to read and watch both.Matt wrote:Persepolis
Gaiman, like Morrison, I find, are at their weakest when in Marvel, but are still some of the better stuff to read in that universe.Aussiemandias wrote:Just finished two trades:
Marvel 1602 Hardcover by Neil Gaiman and Andy Kubert. I quite enjoyed this and I think it was a good choice to get as a hardcover. I don't think it was by any means Gaiman's best work (I just had a bit of a feeling at the end that it could have been better) but it certainly was fun to see the characters like this and I think it came through in the writing. Andy Kubert's art was perfect for the book. Scott McKowen's original covers were excellent. It was great reading Neil Gaiman's script for issue #1 (included as an extra) - it was actually a great read - quite different than a lot of other comics writers' scripts I've seen.
