But Red Son is easily the best Superman tale. Elseworlds or not. Fact. It was in Time Magazine and everything, scientists discovered it.

We don't agree about everything, so hopefully I'll like it...

Red Son is my all-times favorite Superman tale. I read it couple of times over the years and found some problems in the story (my biggest problem was always the timeline), but it's still my favorite.

Just got the War of Kings, Old Man Logan, and Invincible v4 hardcovers, and the Criminal: Bad Night trade.

So far I'm only through War of Kings, which I enjoyed - the attack at the wedding was a great scene, and I like how they've left Gladiator.

Was given this by a friend who's had to streamline his bookshelves for a move (he says there's a ton of other stuff he's gonna heap upon me after this)

Today I read Captain America: Omnibus, Vol. 1 by Ed Brubaker.

AMAZING. The best Omnibus collection ever. And a very intense, often passionate, absolutely tragic story...

Just finished up the first volume of the JMS Amazing Spider-Man Ultimate Collection. Prior to reading this the only JMS Spidey stuff I'd read was the Morlun story, a New Avengers/Hydra story, Back in Black, and OMD. I have to say, I liked the stuff collected here. It's weird, I don't like the whole spider totem idea (I prefer the whole accident angle), but I still really like the story. I guess I just like the writing.

I also really love the art. JRJR is a weird artist for me. Sometimes I love his work, sometimes I hate it. Here I love it.

The 9/11 issue was also really good.

All in all I quite enjoyed the material collected here. I've already started on volume 2, and I like it as well. It's just nice to have some good Spidey stuff since I'm hating 98% of the current ASM stuff.

My bro's gonna let me catch up on GL stuff now that it has my interest piqued.

I just read Blue Beetle: End Game (which was sent to me by your friend and mine, Jason Knize for my review of the PoP-Cast). I had never read any of this series before, but that really didn't effect my enjoyment of this at all. I really liked this and I may search out some of the other trades from this series. It was also cool to read the Sinestro Corps War tie in issue. If you're looking for a fun read I'd say pick this up.

Nice... so Green Lantern and Chew it shall be... From what I read online, can't wait.

Yup, pretty much where Moore started. There's some good stuff there, although it can be hit & miss. Finished it up this afternoon, will see if the January sales throw up anything interesting.

i bought them all primarily for the art [it's what i do, i've pretty much always bought comics to give me ideas of things to draw :P]

Just read Green Lantern: Rebirth for the first time. Fantastic stuff right there.

I'm reading my awesome Fables Deluxe Edition Hardcover that I got from HrdwrkingXSoldier. I love it!

^ While many people claim the real story starts in 'Animal Farm' (or even later), I loved both 'Legends in Exile' (first arc) and 'Animal Farm' (second). Please tell me the Deluxe Edition contains the Bigby short prose story...

I'm not sure, as it's not in front of me at the moment, but it more than likely does.

Its not aside from the main stories being bigger the only extras are a special intro by willingham and more sketches by mark buckingham

I repeat the prose story is not in the hardcover!
