Walmart Exclusive Marvel Legends Nemesis Series...

Instead of sharing this on the WUMB, as I'm currently transitioning from there to here on PoP! I'm just sharing this info with ya'll.

Okay I learned a few things these past 2 weeks of harassing Walmart for them.

This morning I showed up at 745 for a meeting with the store manager. We promptly waited a half hour as his punk ass Toy Dept. Manager showed up. They proceeded to tag team me into they don't know nuffin' about nuffin'.

I then turned from concerned customer to angry fuckin' nerd. I ranted and raved about how goddamn hard it was to get ahold of a set of Metallo figures before christmas, and then when Christmas hit they were silly with them. How since summer of 2007 in various toy magazines and websites have been pimpin' these pieces of plastics only to find out they were gonna be exclusives. I lambasted them with the horror tales of the Giantman Series, The Fin Fang Foom Hulk Legends, and the Ares Wave.

I bitched about the scalpers and competiting not only with Local Collectors and Scalpers but the ones who cross the US-mexico bridges daily to scalp figures. How some of their employees (and I named goddamn names) have brokered back room deals and how I didn't want to get ripped off by one of their employees for merch that should hit the shelves.

I then bold faced lied that I had a son who desperately wants to build the Nemesis figure because he missed out on building Fin Fang Foom. Oh yeah I went there.

At the mention of a child, whom toys are meant for, their icy demeanors melted and they took down what I was looking for (a complete set of non-variant figures Black Bolt, Beast, Punisher, Nova, Tigra, and Daredevil) and that I could call tomorrow morning between 8 and 10am to get the UPC numbers for the figures along with any information they could get from corporate about when they'd be arriving and possibly make arrangements to have a set, if not a case, of figures set aside since I had been emailing and calling for the past 2 weeks straight about this.

Oh yeah, squeaky wheel gets the grease, baby.

So yeah looks like I'm getting some kinda hook up here. I tell you now, Tigra and Nova are mine, but it looks like I'm gonna have a DD, Punny, Beast, and Black Bolt availabe in the near future.

Also while being all desperate and going without sleep I found the cheapest damn place to buy: the uk collectibles store StarStore.com they have the figures for 9.77 GBP and the shipping to the US is 7.95 GBP for two figures. So if I was to buy just Tigra and Nova I'd end up spending just 40 and change USD for the pair shipping included.

This is CHEAPER than any other site on the 'net. And its FUCKING ENGLAND!

Anywho, more news as it comes.

You know that 9.87GBP is nearly twenty bucks a figure US, yes? And shipping is about 18 bucks for two figures. How is that cheaper?

You are shitting me. These fuckers are just sitting around NOT on the shelves? I've been driving myself insane looking for these things. So what's the story on the actual street date? What of this March 2nd bullshit? I ask because every Walmart around here has reset their action figure aisle and there's not even a peg for these things. When can we friggin' get them, already? I only want like three of these and I REFUSE to pay more than standard retail for them on principal alone.

I don't even see a spot for Marvel Legends figures, just mixed in with Hulk and stuff, so you have to do a search.

Well I got a call back but family came early to visit, and I MEAN EARLY, for Easter. So monday I'll be getting the info.

Okay I got a call this morning from the Manager of my Walmart. Apparently his Boss had a conference call with the Hasbro people and it turns out the Nemesis Wave is going out to select retailers, not just walmart, now.

I'm going to write Toyfare about this AND harass Hasbro. I want a second opinion confirmation. 'Cause if more than walmart is carrying it then I need to know WHO ELSE is going to get these fuckers.

Oh yeah, reports around the net put it that only the Iron Man/Maria Hill set will be available and not the Sharon Carter variant set. They dropped the Sue/Johnny pack too. And THEY ARE DIAMOND PREVIEWS exclusive. So you gotta get comic shops or retailers to pick them up for you... at holy hella crap high prices. Not no walmart 22 bucks.

They're going to release what they've got left (except for Sue and Johnny, which pisses me off because I bought the Ben/Reed two pack so they would match), and then let the line die in a dark corner, alone and beaten.

Ya you're gettin' my BAF parts from Nova and Tigra. Someone from another board told me I was crazy for the trade but I explained the parts come from 2 exclusives and only amount to the value of essentially one figure. And being that its a trade for an exclusive figure its pretty fair.

BTW they were angling to reserve those parts, I promised you, in trade for fodder pieces, not even a whole figure. Crazy bastard.

Its their own fault for getting the Marvel License to begin with. They made a BIG ASS deal for it and then the economy tanked. Now they're screwing the non-pegwarmer buyer demographic because we end up deciding what the casual buyer is left to pick off the racks.
