I've always loved the yellow oval.

^I loved it when it was all that I knew (from Batman: TAS and the Burton Batman movies), but when The New Batman Adventures and Justice League/JLU came out (and then when I got into comics) and I saw the costume without the yellow oval I grew to like it better that way. I don't hate the oval, I just prefer the costume without it.

I actually started reading comics when Batman didn't have the oval as well. I thought the oval just made the symbol pop a bit more. I did always love the Adam West Batman costume.

I'm really curious to the reasoning behind bringing the yellow oval back. I think it looks really cool with the black cowl.

Probably just another way to distinguish between Bruce and Dick if they are both going to be Batman.

Yep. I think he'd be a lot of fun to play with and really play up the urban myths about Batsy.

I think the yellow oval is the only Silver Age gimmick I dislike. Nevertheless I'm sure Morrison has a good reason to bring it back. The idea that it differentiates Wayne Snr from Grayson (and possibly the other franchised Batmen) is a good one.

Plus, they it's trademarked.

I am so burned out by this.

#1 was a..mazing.

Read #1 and I really enjoyed it. I'm sold.

Batman: The Return #1 & Batman Inc. #1


I decided to skip these last week. It's pretty well documented on this very site that I'm not a Grant Morrison fan. I've disliked almost everything I've ever read from the man (the only thing of his I've liked was the first arc of his New X-Men run), so it seemed like a no-brainer to skip these books. Well, thanks to prescribeddrone sending me a link to a preview of Batman Inc. my interest was peaked. He also said that the book was more linear than Morrison's past Batman stuff. So, I decided to at least flip through Batman Inc. in my LCS. I did that, and it didn't look half bad. So, I said "screw it" and I decided to get it. I also grabbed Batman: The Return for the hell of it. Well, I'm glad I got these books because I LOVED them. Yes, that's right, hell has frozen over and pigs are flying because I liked two Morrison book. So, thanks prescribeddrone for the link and giving me a gentle nudge to get Batman Inc. I'm VERY glad I did. I'm putting the book on my pull list next week.
