Psst. Could be he needs to switch from Miraclo to Viagra. Just sayin'.

I thought it was obvious. Half the team wants to serve up justice in a more aggressive and swift manner.

Why would you even suspect that they wouldn't?

It's gonna take a lot to explain why LB isn't on the team unless something happens to her in Rebirth. Cyclone was all about being in wonder of the people on the team, why would she go with Magog? If PG is the current chairwoman, why is she going to step aside to Magog?

It's not that I don't have faith that they will explain everything, I just hope it isn't super rushed. They have what, what like 3 issues before the split?

Yes I understand that half the team wants to serve up justice in a more extreme way, I was wondering why they chose some of the members they did. I understand why Tommy, Judomaster, Citizen Steel, and King Chimera are there, just not some of the others.

3 issues is a LOT of time to explain what could easily be done in several panels.

Yeah then they have to explain what is going on with Mr. Terrific, and a whole other bunch of stuff. I guess they have the giant size too, I just don't like the idea. The JSA is about family, having the family split is a lil weird. I'll give like the first issue a chance, and hope I'm pleasantly surprised.

yeah i thought Cyclone and Stargirl would be on the main team, they don't seem like the swift justice type of gals to me. I think PG's on the team because i think they're hinting at a Magog/Power Girl shipping.

^ If I remember correctly, wasn't it PG who agreed with Magog about going after the villains, but the elders refused it.

Also, what is this about a Giant Size?

JSoA #33 is going to be my last issue of the book for now. I'm just not feeling what Willingham & Sturges are writing, and I don't feel like spending an extra $4 a month on a book out of pure habit. (Maybe if someone besides Hourman & Liberty Belle were starring in the back-up, since they're two of my least favorite members, but probably not.)

Can't wait for this title. The 5 page preview didn't really give much--the art pulled me in, and they did show, in just those 5 pages, how the team is going to be starting from scratch, because they seem so disorganized.

Here's the 5 pages of the preview:

Funny how people have different directions. I'm down to get this series but the art in the preview has actually put me off!

Issue #1 was okay. I loved the art.

I'm not thrilled with the team. The only character I love is Stargirl, and I wish she was on the other team.

The android stuff was weird for me. If PG couldn't x ray them all then there could've been humans mixed in and they could've killed them. It seemed reckless.

Well I can't say I was particularly impressed with the first issue. I can't stand the cartoony art one bit and, unfortunately, I have no interest in most of the characters except a couple and Matt Sturges doesn't really give me any reason to be interested.

About the only thing that's piqued my interest is who the villain is and what's going on with Stargirl.

I'm locked in until issue #3 but I can't see myself picking this up after that. Not at $3.99.

I like Willingham's and Sturges's writing on books like Fables and House of Mystery but I'm just not sure they're great superhero book writers.

I agree the first issue was "okay". Seems like they skipped a few details between this issue and JSA issue that came before it. Not crazy about the team, it's basically filled with JSA characters I didn't like in the first place. At least they're out of the main book now though and hopefully that title can get back to coming close to Johns-level quality.

I found the issue average at best. It does sorta feel that there's some stuff missing and the misplaced word balloon in the training scene with King Chimera and Damage annoyed me abit. Liked the villain reveal and having the original Hourman helping the new team.

First issue was a big, giant effing "meh". I almost looked back to check if I'm not accidentally reading a book from the early '90s. None of characters were likable and I don't get the logic behind that team. If at all, Magog could easily start a whole new team with new characters. Don't remember if I ever saw Williams' art before, but I couldn't stand it in this issue. Even the Letterer didn't care for this issue, resulting in some embarrassing swipe of word balloons between Katana, Damage, Cyclone and King Chimera. Not to mention, there was some bad storytelling involved (see the scene where Stargirl storms at the androids, claiming they don't want to attack her, when there was no sign of that prior to this one panel). If I thought that the last bunch of artists did a bad job portraying Wolfsbane in X-Factor (and then that ugly thing by Clayton Crain in X-Force), Williams came by and did worse with Wildcat II. Maybe it's because I haven't read JSoA in a long time, but I don't remember Hourman/Rick being so annoying. I'll put this one on Sturges's fault too.

Yikes! I'm having no second thoughts about cancelling this (after the next issue). I don't think this is very good at all. This feels like a comic from the 80s to me and just not my cup of tea these days.

Matt Sturges - stick to what you do really well - eg. House of Mystery, Fables. I'm thinking this super-hero stuff is not for you.

Meh. Not the best. I LOVE Freddie William II's art, but here it seems off. I don't know.

I'm going to ride this series out a little while longer in the hopes it gets better.

Oh, and the backup story sucked beyond words. It was awful.

Just read the first one. Guess I'm the only one really getting a kick out of this fresh-start for each teammate that was hardly getting face-time. 3.5 out of 5 from me. :shrugs:
