Should have been nominated: Maybe Clint Eastwood for Invictus...but I'm happy with the five that were nominated.

I think Bigelow has this one, but, in my opinion, Tarantino should win because his movie style still entertains the heck out of me and he deserves directorial acknowledgement by the Academy at least once. And, with it being me and what I like, Blomkamp should've been listed for the nominations. Possibly because he's foreign and it's his first film. Not that they've never given a "noob" one of the prominent awards before, but it seems a rarity due to seniority having a leg-up.
