How bad ass is your accent??

I've got this friend Troy, who I've known for years. He moved down to Kentucky a few years ago (at a guess...3 or 4 years).

Wow! He's got one helluva accent now. Now, I know everyone has an accent, it's all a matter of where you live. What I'm wondering is:

Is there an accent that really drives you wild?

I'd have to say:

Irish,British, or French...I melt like butter.

Say, "Moose and Squirrel"

Still looking for your Natasha??

Spanish, Australian, British

There's a girl at work that used to always give me a hard time about my accent (born/raised in the South), but I think I've done a fairly good job of losing it even while living in Virginia & Florida most of my years. I've always made a conscious effort to *not* sound "Southern".

Just recently though, she told me she liked my accent because it made me sound like a Southern gentleman. But then there's others around here who say they don't hear my accent at all.

I might not have the "accent", but I have the speech patterns of a Chicagoan.

Brett and Daisy said I have a Chicago accent. Apparently I say "Chicago" very funny.

I've been working on a Russian one. I feel ridiculous, but Josh is making me. DX

Accents....I could listen to the Doctor all day.

I lost my New york accent years ago, after joining the Army. In basic the Drills called me "Dice".

Pretty much any accent drives me nuts if the girl is cute, though. what can i say, i'm easy!

Irish and Aussie accents are cute. Smooth Russian can sound very seductive. Minnesota can be a really interesting conversation it turns out. It would lie under cute with Irish and Aussie, though.

But, like RIV1 said, it depends on the girl. Their accent can accent their attractiveness.

My own accent: Not especially noticeable unless I'm exhausted or pissed off. Then I am full-on Texan.

I have the standard Central Illinois accent. Not far enough north to talk like I'm from Chicago...not far enough south to sound southern. Although when I was a kid I grew up with my grandparents who were from Kentucky. So I did have a southern accent when I was little. Pretty much gone now. I still get funny looks because there's a couple of words that I still don't say right. example: I say warsh instead of wash...and Crick instead of Creek.

I purposefully broke myself of my southern accent as soon as I was old enough to realize that there were no smart people on TV that talked like that. Having grown up in Tennessee, I've got pretty normal speech patterns now, which is good, because it's hard to sound like anything but a redneck when you... well, sound like a redneck. There's a reason there are no nuclear physicists from Alabama. I'm sure there are people qualified for it, but when you're talking about "particul acceleraturs," it's hard to be taken seriously

That said, I dig on the Australian accent, even on that damn Nicole Kidman.

Man, my grandfather looked JUST like Andy Griffith.

When I worked at the call center a lady kept telling me I had a "South Texas" accent and asked if I was from the RGV (Rio Grande Valley, ie the 4 southernmost counties that make up the Tip of Texas, aka "Hurricane Country"). Which I indeed was born and raised there.

I'd get calls from her like maybe once every 2 or 3 months, and dammit she kept reminding me that I had a fuckin' SOUTH TEXAS ACCENT. I don't have an accent. But apparently to this one lady, I DO. It bothers me even to remember it because most of the people I worked with at the call center couldn't speak english worth SHIT.

I've lived in the South for most of my life, and people around here still think I'm a Yankee. I'm sure many Northerners would detect a hint of an accent, but I've never had much of a drawl. Go figure.

I have a slight British accent. I tend to lay it on thick to impress the ladies sometimes (and yes, amazingly, it works).

I don't think I have an accent that sticks out, even when I speak English.

I think I can do some good fake accents, like Irish, British, French, several American accents, Russian etc.

I have a "Mawalky"(Milwaukee)accent. I say Bag-el not Bay-gell,I say Roof like hoof not poof, and say route like root among other things.

Accents I love: South African, Swedish, Korean, Mexican, French and British.

I can do an very good faux english accent I used to use it to piss off an english friend of mine
