Full review of #1 coming soon on the main site.
Needless to say, I dug this issue. A good start, let's see if it can go the distance.

I'm dropping GLC. I'm very unhappy with it. This book will do the job for me.Batman25JM wrote:I'm already enjoying this book more than (Bedard's run on) Green Lantern Corps.

This, 'twas a splendid issue.
I loved it so much. Tomasi writes a phenomenal Guy as well as Kilowog. Thanks to Tomasi, I really think that Guy is my favorite GL, with Kilowog a close second (Hal's up there too, but I don't know, I think I like Guy and Kilowog more).
I'm liking the villain so far. Can't wait to see more of him.
I think I might be enjoying this book more than the main GL book (which I'm loving).
jaydee74 wrote:#2 was just spot on. I loved the beginning with Guy in the archives. Tomasi has really found Guy's voice and I am loving his characterization. There is so much about this series that is just so right and it's only issue #2. It kind of makes me sad that Tomasi can't do both Emerald Warriors. It's not that I am not enjoying GLC but it's hasn't been as good as it was with Tomasi writing it. Peter Tomasi has become my second favorite writer behind Johns simply because he gets the characters he's writing and I just enjoy what he's doing on this book. #3 looks like it's going to be filled with Red Rage goodness.
Actually I don't so much get the sense that it's going to be that type of book at all. I think it's going to be this small group off on a slightly different path to the rest of the GLC but I don't really see it as going to be a gritty or black ops style thing. Could be wrong but it's not my take on it. Just a different path that's all.jaydee74 wrote:I think that Emerald Warriors is going to be a more "gritty" black ops type Green Lantern book which is what is going to make the three Green Lantern books so unique from each other.
jaydee74 wrote:I guess what I meant by a bit more gritty, black ops is that the mission Guy is going on is secret. Not to mention the fact that Kilowog and Arisia don't know that Guy has a pact with Atrocitus which could lead to some problems if they find out. Also, going into the unknown territories is going to be some down and dirty stuff so that was my reasoning for defining the book the way I did. I still think that al three of the books are very unique from each other which is very cool.
