What book are you reading now?

I think this'll take me a long time to get through, it's pretty dense. Alan Moore recently mentioned in an interview that it took him the best part of a month to get through, and that he loved it. I loved The Crying of Lot 49 and Mason & Dixon, so I can't wait.

I've started reading Book of Lies by Brad Meltzer. Started off kinda slow, but it picks up really fast. So far I would give this a recommendation.

On my list:

Three "Doctor Who" novels:
"The Taking of Chelsea 426" (featuring Tennant as the Doctor)
"DW Missing Adventures: Evolution" (featuring Baker as the Doctor)
"DW and the Green Death" (featuring Pertwee as the Doctor)

"Extraordinary Engines" and "Steampunk," two steampunk anthologies

the complete "Girl Genius" saga by Phil and Kaja Foglio

the complete "Transmetropolitan" series by Warren Ellis and Darick Robertson

the complete "Fables" by Bill Willingham, as well as "Jack of Fables" and "Peter and Max" (the latter I have to wait for to receive from the library)

"I Am Not A Cop" by Richard Belzer

"Pride and Prejudice and Zombies"

"The Light Fantastic" and "Hogfather" by Terry Pratchett

...and a metric shit-ton of other books, including a "King Kong" prequel (based on the 05 Peter Jackson film), "The Automatic Detective" by A. Lee Martinez, the complete works of HP Lovecraft, several Neil Gaiman books, "Scud: The Whole Shebang" by Rob Schrab (which I'm reading for the fifth time since I purchased it), and many, many, many more.

That book was pretty good, if not a bit derivitive of The Da Vinci Code and its ilk...though I think it was better written than anything Dan Brown's ever done.

Just finished The Golden Compass, oh man I loved, and Lyra is quickly becoming one of my favorite characters ever.

I'm right in the middle of The Great Hunt by Robert Jordan. I've read the first few books in the series before but don't remember much, so I'm starting over.

I've also started Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte again.

Just finished Angela's Ashes... and now I need something new to read.

Yesterday I started reading and am now halfway through Russell Brand's biography; My Booky Wook. There are some really messed up stories in it, but I'm enjoying it a lot. Very, very funny most of the time.

well, I figure if I'm going to read all the Wheel of Time books, my brain is gonna need a break every so often...and since I don't want to break up the series by reading whole novels I started Wuthering Heights - a book I know I like (even though I haven't read it in about 10 years) and is very different in style and subject matter.

I'm reading The Gathering Storm, and so far Brandon Sanderson is much more interesting then Jordan was.

I've finished "Fables" and "Preacher," and am working my way through "Transmetropolitan."

Started reading a translated edition of McSweeney's Mammoth Treasury of Thrilling Tales Vol. 10, edited by Michael Chabon.

I just finished a book called Tunnels. by Roderick Gordon it was pretty good.

I'm rereading Dreamseller by Brandon Novak. Just gonna reread stuff until I find the time to stop at Half Price Books and buy some new used books.

I am currently reading 'Rant: An Oral Biography of Buster Casey' by Chuck Palahniuk (the guy who wrote Fight Club)

I'm only a few chapters in but I'm enjoying it so far

City of Bones by Cassandra Clare (Think Harry Potter meets Buffy as written for a more mature audience. Still 'young adult' fare, but something that adults can enjoy on the appropriate level.)
