New Avengers #58

Not expected? This fight was far better than the one issue #50 promised. It's reaching a point where the book's so consistent it's getting perhaps stagnant. We'll see post-Seige how the whole Avengers saga figures out. Immonen's art is excelling by the issue.

Agreed, the fight was awesome.

Enjoyed this one too. The fight scene in the sewer was excellent - in particular I loved the bit where Ares's axe hits Cap's shield and sends him flying. Good stuff. Even though I saw it coming I absolutely loved Ms Marvel's mid air decking of Norman.

I'm really starting to find the Ares character is growing on me. Just finding the character more and more interesting and I tend to think he's going to turn on Osborn very soon.

I haven't liked Immonen's art so far but this is the first issue I've liked it. At times he reminds me of Walt Simonson who I used to love.

By the way, when the hell does Ronin/Clint get captured by Norman as per The List one shot??? It annoys me that both The Avengers and Secret Warriors List one shots both have been out of sequence and I don't really understand why that was necessary.

Loved NA#58. I agree about the sewer scene. Cap going flying was just AWESOME!!

I thought Immonen's art was stellar here. It had a Leinil Yu feel to it, and I love Yu.

If you haven't checked out Dark Avengers: Ares yet you should, tons of great Ares moments.

Really solid read, the fight scene was awesome, I loved Bucky Cap telling everyone to move as you hear Ares getting closer and closer, then the resulting confrontation actually made me laugh, Ares finds Bucky Cap "Interesting", not sure that's a good thing.

Really consistent read, don't think I've not liked an issue of NA in quite a while.

i might check it out. i am not sure if i have the money for it though
as it is i am trying to add spider woman to my pull list

I think he thought that it was interesting that he didn't shatter the shield or the man.

My favorite part was actually Night Nurse. It was one of those "you got served" moments.

Actually he said "impressive" not "interesting" and I think that was basically because he found Bucky impressive in the way he fought him.

This was great! Luke is really close to dying, and I can't imagine what Normie has got planned for him in that sick little mind of his. And I'm sure he remembers how Luke double-crossed him after he saved baby Cage. Then the scene with Jessica Jones was really emotional, I think this may ultimately be the catalyst that convinces her to return to superheroics.

Also, its interesting to see The Hood back in commission, makes me wonder what's ultimately in it for Loki. Now that he's back, he's gotta find a way to get his criminal empire back.
