To be fair, I only read his first appearance many years ago in Darker Image #1 (I'm still waiting for #2 to come out). Not a fan, but it was probably the best story in that one (competing with Jim Lee's Deathblow and Rob Liefeld wasn't that hard, though).

I hated the redesign and stopped going there few months later. Now that the main runner, Matt Brady is no longer there, I lost any small interest I still had in that website.

Well, that's good. He's supposed to be a cliched "hulking" character design. Kieth was kind of making fun of Marvel and Image, and even some of DC's characters having exaggerated builds. I also believe The Maxx was supposed to be a knock at the extreme titling of comics during the "Dark Age" of comics.
