Knize specifically said 'lack of color', so I'm assuming B&W.

And To Kill A Mockingbird is not something to suffer your way through. It's an amazing movie. Amazing. It and A Night to Remember are my two favorite B&W movies of all time.

This thread is depressing me. Sad

Adam's Rib, 12 Angry Men, and Inherit the Wind; watched them in my Young Lawyers class and loved them. Feel better?

It's almost Christmas time: Miracle on 34th Street and It's A Wonderful Life are coming up!

I like the classics.

For a good funny thrillercheck out...

Arsenic and old lace

For a good THRILLER check out...
Charade.

My mom was a Cary Grant fan, so when it was on I watched them too and get into the old actors. Audrey Hepburn, Walter Matthau, John Lemon, Tony Curtis, Joan O'Brien, ect...

That's a great one. Also one of my favorite stage plays.

I love that my offhand (and pretty accurate) comment almost turned this into a debate over the merits of old movies.

Citizen Kane is awesome, btw...and not because everyone says it is...it's because it is.

I'm not referring to the movie with the talking pig, y'know. This one has an "l" at the end and was the most boring, self-important film I've ever tried to watch. I was expecting so much more from the "language barrier" angle that just wasn't there. And, if you saw the trailer I did, it was no surprised that it was Pitt's character on the phone with Amelia at the beginning, so it lost the one subtle nuance it MAY have otherwise cashed in on.

Thank you.

Dammit! I knew I needed a Bogart vehicle on that list! But, to be fair, even the hardest heart set against classic movies has likely seen Casablanca.

Babel was a horrible, boring film.

Then you were so passionate defending (supposedly) quality films when everyone blamed the Academy's choice of nominees that are not likely favored by common folks. Now with this talk about classic movies it seems exactly the opposite.

The argument from most was "Why doesn't (summer blockbuster A) get a nomination?", or "No one likes the movies nominated...they should nominate (movie that was god awful but a bunch of people saw)".

I'm not hating on "classic" films, they just aren't my cup of tea.

One of my favorite comments was by both Zach Oat and Justin Aclin and they both said made roughly the same comment:

"Wow, it really makes me laugh when people say 'Wizard Sucks! But Toyfare pretty cool.'"

And I gotta say, its very true. Wizard the magazine lost its way, and while Toyfare has made some past changes they usually do something really good that either fixes it back the way it was OR makes it up to its readers. Out of all of this I think Toyfare will be the last man standing because it does cater to the readers.

I'm sorry to say, but I find myself skimming Toyfare more often than not. And the Twilight cover made me angry.

I actually liked toyfare better, I just wont buy it because I am on a Wizard boycott. I am just one person and my 6 bucks a month don't mean anything to them, but to me, it's a happy meal.

I haven't read the whole issue yet and I could really give a shit about the cover but the TTT is funny and the Letters and Previews portions were rockin'. I have yt to take a long enough dmp to read TF the whole way through.

I recently resubscribed because 24 bucks for 13 issues is a good deal.

The other day I skimmed through December's Previews and there were the ads for Wizard's magazines. That month's issue of TF had Triple H on the cover, but nothing on it that said anything about him or WWE.
