Knize specifically said 'lack of color', so I'm assuming B&W.

And To Kill A Mockingbird is not something to suffer your way through. It's an amazing movie. Amazing. It and A Night to Remember are my two favorite B&W movies of all time.

This thread is depressing me. Sad

On the top of my list!

I bet Nazis aren't too fond of it.

It's not only the lack of color.

I'll rephrase that

How could anyone with a soul hate Schindler's List?

Hey, don't throw me in with these freaks! I was sitting reading these last pages with my mouth so agape it was like my first trip to meatspin.com.

My soul aches for you all.

I'm not saying it's bad, the opposite. Ts is great for cinema tech people.

I'm reading this thread and then remember the 2009 Academy Awards thread from WUMB we had at the time, and I don't believe it's the same Jason Knize that posted back then.

To be fair, that wouldn't have been funny in 2008 either.

Reason for edit: stupidity.

Man, I loved that animation! Reminded me more of Blum's work, though.
Judy?

If it seemed reminiscent of Don Bluth's work, that's probably because Bluth used to be an animator at Disney.

Laughing My bad.

Yeah, I think my aunt was shocked when I put on Abbot and Costello Meet Frankenstein yesterday like I was somehow unaware of films made before my time. I actually have all of the Sidney Toler Charlie Chan films (certainly not high brow, but I love its absurdity and humor; plus, I use to watch it with my dad) and want to get my hands on the Thin Man collection. Might check out Mr. Moto. I still haven't seen even most of Hitchcock's films which I'll have to change. My mom gets bored when I sit down to watch some Kurosawa Samurai films. When a movie was made is not as important as what the movie does; namely, if it entertains.

Yes, but look at what you miss out on:

All About Eve
Psycho
Citizen Kane
A Night to Remember
It Happened One Night
To Kill A Mockingbird
Mildred Pierce
Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?
Dial 'M' for Murder
An Imitation of Life
A Christmas Carol
How Green Was My Valley

etc.

I understand not being a fan of older movies, but classics are classics for a reason. Wink

We watch the Alistair Sym 'A Christmas Carol' every year in my house. I saw a bit of Dial 'M' for Murder and I want to watch the whole thing. I'll have to add that to my queue.
