Powerful Films

The Pursuit of Happyness. Will Smith and his son's performances was genius and them being a real parent and son makes the story even more interesting. Though the film was great-it has nothing on the books by the way.

What's your favorites, PoP? I already know Precious will be one of my favorites.

Pursuit of Happyness is a total miss, IMO. Good cast and idea, terrible execution.

Have you read the book?

I don't think that any film has effected me as much from one watching as Shindler's list.

Didn't know there was a book.

Right now can't come up with anything, but have to agree with Schindler's List.

Schindler's List is up there. The end of Life is Beautiful was pretty damn powerful.

And while I hate how shamefully manipulative it was, I couldn't help but be affected by parts of The Passion Of The Christ.

When Shadow comes over the hill in "Homeward Bound" it gets me every frigin' time. Damn dog movie!

Never watched Shindler's List, but it's still on my must-see list...I almost bought it yesterday. Next time I'm in Best Buy, I think I'll get it.

Higher Learning really got to me. A director that can get a decent performance out of Tyra Banks is phenomenal.


Quills was probably one of the best portrayals of true insanity on film. If you haven't seen it, it's worth watching just for Geoffrey Rush. Hell Joaquin Phoenix and Kate Winslet were great too. One of my favorite films of all time.

Good one...and quite underrated.

It might be corny to some but Field of Dreams. I have a strong personal connection to that movie because of the relationship I have with my dad and the role baseball plays in it.
