Yep, I'm still expecting it to be Johnny Storm too.

#586 was indeed excellent. Hickman has designed this story really well with each character involved in life threatening situations and Epting's art has been such a great addition to the book. I like when Sue gets to show how powerful she is - I always think with those force fields she really is one of the more powerful super powered characters around. She just gets underutilised sometimes. The other thing I've been getting a kick out of is the relationship between Reed and Galactus - the respect Reed gets from Galactus speaks volumes.

Hickman was made for the Fantastic Four.

Awesome review! Agree with all of you guys on all fronts, except I think Reed is the one who "goes down"...his character arc has just been built so highly from the get-go...killing anyone else would reduce impact..

Just got caught up on the last couple issues of this arc...its so damn good. It's pretty remarkable how Hickman has been able to add all these new layers and concepts to this book, while still utilizing some of the usual major players like Doom, Galactus, Namor, etc. But its starting to bum me out that we're gonna be losing an FF member...

Yeah driving to the comic shop for one issue, then having to drive there again the next day for another 12 issues or so is pretty frustrating.

My shop's an hour away, so I'll just pick it up on Wednesday like normal.

Wow. I like that character. That character will come back. They always come back

no one ever stays dead....

Wow. But they have been toying with the idea of that character dying for for the past few years.

I liked the issue a lot.

And just because the character will come back eventually doesn't lessen the current impact of them dying right now. The other characters believe that it's the last time they'll see "them". And I'm sure the "character" thinks its their last stand as well.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That was good.

(Yes both Batman and Steve Rogers came back way too quickly after their climatic "deaths" but a good death issue is always dramatic and usually well-done. FF #587 was no less.)

Loved #587. Hickman is kicking twelve kinds of ass on the book, and the art is superb.
