#8 was meh for me. Not bad, but not great either. It does make me wonder when this is happening in relation for Hawk & Dove between here and BoP.

#8 was a bit of a letdown considering how good the last few issues have been. The only thing that really happened was

It also didn't help that the Hawkworld storyline dominated the issue, as that's the plot that I have the least interest in. This issue just gets a 3/5 from me. Next issue should be better though.

This is just a snoozefest.

Those variants always make Sapph go "Can anybody just sit in a chair like a normal person?" Then I lounge about behind the counter in the various poses. Doing the Max Lord is my favorite.

Someone pointed out the other day that there was "someone else's name on the Flash chair but you couldn't see who it was." Took me a second before we realized it was Zoom, not Flash.

The Hawk stuff is not really doing much for me so the fact that this was the main story kind of bothered me a bit but it's not horrible. I liked the Martian Manhunter part. I really am most interested in Aquaman and Firestorm so because neither were involved in the issue, it wasn't great but I am curious about what Boston Brand is going to do when he finds Hal Jordan. This should be rather interesting. I am more or less really enjoying this series thus far.

I'm with a few of you guys in that #8 featured my least favourite story - the Hawks. Of all the stories I think this has the least to do with Brightest Day. I'm really thinking it's been shoehorned in to get people interested in them and, I don't know about anyone else, but I have this feeling that this story is starting to lean towards overcomplicating their continuity/history again (actually more like "even more"). In fact with some of the information in this very issue I think it's definitely happening.

I'm enjoying the series but less focus on the Hawks is welcome in my books.

Oh and the Hawkgirl on the Finch cover looks borderline anorexic and barely capable of holding that mace and sword up with those stick arms.

Brightest Day #8

This issue was decent. Not as good as the last one, but not terrible.

The Hawks story is my least favorite as well, but I don't hate it. I do agree that it is further complicating their continuity/history though. I am going to need to do some research on Hawkgirl's mother because I don't know anything about the story there.

I find that I am the most interested in the Aquaman, Firestorm, and Deadman stories. The fact that two of them were not in this issue did hinder my enjoyment some.

I really hope Deadman doesn't go back to being the old Deadman at the end of this series. I'm really liking the character and I think the idea of him being human again after so many years has a huge amount of potential to explore in the hands of a good writer.

^ I agree. It could be interesting. Of all the characters to resurrect, Deadman is deserving. Maybe alive he can solve his death. Ooo, interesting twist.

Just read 8--some aren't caring for this series, but I'm kind of liking it. It hasn't yet, but it could easily surpass my like for Blackest Night in a couple issues.

Something that is also part of fans' disdain is the Hawkman/Hawkwoman legacy/continuity. I like that Starlin and now these writers are mixing everything together into one crazy ass backstory. Makes the characters richer in my opinon.

I could see a good book end to the character of Deadman to be honest. At the end of this series, he's alive and now has to make something of his life. That could be interesting and a really cool take. Goodbye Deadman and Hello Boston Brand. It could have potential for at the very least a mini-series.
