I saw Sex Drive and actually kind of dug it. It's not the best put together movie and it's got some lulls, but there were some really funny moments.

1988's "Bright Lights, Big City", starring Michael J. Fox, Phoebe Cates and Keifer Sutherland. I've wanted to see it for years and when I got home from work I saw it was playing on one of the Encore channels.

thumbs down

Pretty boring.

Clay Pigeons - a dark comedy from 1997 with Joaquin Phoenix and Vince Vaughn. Pretty good.

Watched the original version of "War of the Worlds" today.

Not that Tom Cruise crap - the original flik from the 1953 w/ the heavily religious overtones. We were all joking about Dr. Clayton Forrester being Superman when he takes his glasses off. Very Happy

Speaking of which, I've been running thru all the MST3K DVDs (what I don't already own) courtesy of Netflix. headbang Tomorrow's episode: Godzilla vs. Megalon!

<grin> I'm a huge fan of theirs, too! Even in the MST3K fan club. Got my magnet on my fridge & everything.

Did you d/l the .mp3 that Joel & Weird Al did of "Jurassic Park?"
I haven't played it thru' yet - hafta' sync it up w/ the movie, etc. - but I did play the first few mins where they're just talking before the show & so far it was pretty good...

I freakin' love those guys. Tom Servo rocks. And anything w/ Godzilla has to be good.

<giggling>
Was just remembering "The Crawling Hand," when the guy answers the phone & crow goes, "And if he's not there let me talk to the Skipper!"

Me, too. Just a gorgeous animated film.

I watched The Class today. It had its flaws, but I loved that it wasn't an overly sentimental portrayal of a teacher on film.

Monsters Vs. Aliens was okay. Nothing spectacular, but good for a few laughs. Great voice cast, too.

I saw Enchanted last night and was pleasantly surprised. Though it made me yearn for someone to take that kind of care and budget and craft a conventional live-action/CG fairy tale movie.

Kudos to you dudes for knowing it also! Damn!

Shee-yit, up here in d'woods, it gets mighty lonely having no-one around t'banter
movie quotes with. Why, there's folk up in these parts that ain't never
even heard of Monty Python - ain't that right, Jason?

Robin Hood is one of my all-time favorite Disney flicks. When I was a kid, I had the storybook album; there are whole swaths of dialogue I know almost by heart. (I used to know the entire scene with Marian and the village kids word-for-word.)

It's one of my all-time favorites, too.
To this day, when I'm out walking dogs on the trails I'll still sing, "The Phoney King of England."

I love the animation, the voices, the songs, family-friendly humor... it's just a perfect Disney movie!

Only storybook album I ever had was the LotR. Do you still have it, Doug? Can you scan in some pics of Hiss? wub
