Kick-Ass

"MTV talked to Kick-Ass comic book creator Mark Millar, who said a sequel to the April 16, 2010 release is a pretty sure thing.

"There's a basic plot," Millar said. "The series ends on a teaser for the next one, and the movie ends on that teaser, too." He added that the first film "didn't cost that much money to make. There will definitely be another one."

So now it is super obvious that he was trying to make the comic flow with the movie. Hate that it does that. It'll be over soon, apparently. Didn't really consider it not being an ongoing series.

Hell, it was supposed to be a six-issue mini and was expanded to eight. I'm pretty sure the movie is mirroring the comic; not the other way around.

Millar looks to be a little more involved with this than he was on the Wanted movie, so hopefully it'll be more faithful. The trailer looks very amusing.

That's what I gathered from the panel at WWC/CCC.

I just took it as they are one and the same with his writing. He's writing the comic, it seems, almost for the sake of promotion.

I have to agree. I do like the trailer though. If they are going for the comedic angle, then I can see this working well.

Well, the comic never takes itself serious. Guess it depends on how you read it, but even then there was always moments of thick satire.

Sadly, in recent years it seems that Millar is creating his own characters only to promote his career in Hollywood. Creators should write comics for the sake of comics, then care for the merchandising.

^ Love it! I always pictured Red Mist as less dweeby but still loser-ish. In the sense of presence, that is. Like Bret Harrison. Or there's this actor who always has a thumb ring on with his parts and kind of has a lisp. He sort of looks like Harrison...sort of. Skinnier, though. Hrm. Ah well. This'll do.

Focuses on Hit Girl, pretty hilarious if you ask me.

Oh yeah, if you're easily offended you probably don't want to watch that, however, if the thought of a ten year old girl dropping f and c bombs and going on a murder spree isn't that offensive to you, go for it.

Looks like they're sticking fairly close to the comic, I'll likely be there on opening weekend if the material coming out keeps looking like this.

That's Awesome!!! I didn't realize that my life story was made into a movie!

I'm thinking the film's story will be a bit different than the comic. Not a completely different thing like Wanted, but different, pretty much.

I've noticed that characters are missing and few have been added when it comes to the casting list.
